River's pov:
It was now time.
We were heading towards Kingstons private airfield as the time was now 03:52am.
We were only a few minutes away from the airfield, which was perfect timing in my opinion but I was still exhausted.
I managed to get an hours sleep but it wasn't enough.
Yawning, I turned to look out of the window to see we were now on the premises of the airfield.
Well here goes nothing.
In the distance, I could make out a few cars, most likely Kingston and his men, along with a jet. Kingstons jet.
It was pitch black outside, the night sky surrounding us. The only thing giving light was the jet and the cars surrounding it.
Miles, my driver, came to a sudden stop as I rolled my eyes at the thought of having to spend god knows how long with the person I despised most in the world.
Hopping out of the car, I carefully checked my surroundings before hearing movement from behind me.
Sasha jumped out of the car, patting her clothes down before letting out a dramatic, heavy sigh.
"You okay there?" I looked back at her, chuckling at how dramatic she was.
"Fan-fucking-tastic." She responded, clear sarcasm leaving her lips as she stuck both of her thumbs up at me.
I chuckled a little more before then making my way towards Kingston and his men, who, by the way, were all stood together glaring at me.
The only one who hadn't noticed me yet was Kingston. He was too busy yapping away with one gigantic bastard.
The sound of tires screeching and another car pulling up caught my attention.
Me, Miles and Sasha all came to the realisation that we forgot about the rest of our men.
What the fuck is wrong with us? It must be the alcohol kicking in.
Landon exited the 4x4 that they were in, quite fast and he looked on edge, as Heath followed behind after, looking as if he'd rather drink a whole bottle of bleach rather than be here right now.
Landon paced over to me, a scowl placed on his rather scaring looking face.
Landon has been my bodyguard since I was seventeen years of age. He began working for my father and my father then demanded that he has to put his life on the line to protect me at all costs.
That's how he became my bodyguard.
Over the seven years that he's been protecting me, standing by me and working for me, I've come to learn that Landon is one of my most loyal men, if not the most loyal.
He's grown to become more like family in my eyes, that is how loyal I see him.
Landon has a very sad, traumatic past, much like the majority of people in this life.
