River's pov:

"Absolutely fucking not." Maverick yelled after I told him my plan of action.

It was no surprise at all that he didn't want me going, but he'd have to trust me on this. I'm doing this for my father.

"Maverick, I'm doing this for dad and plus, I'll only be gone for round about a week and I'm going to have my men with me at all times, so there is nothing to worry about, is there?" I tried to reassure him but it didn't work, of course.

"I don't give a flying fuck who you're taking or how long you'll be gone. You're not going to Russia with Kingston fucking Wolf. Am I clear? Regardless of what you're doing or who you're trying to save." He's not going to agree with anything I have to say, which is understandable but he also needs to understand that this is my father we're talking about and I'm not just going to leave him to rot with the Russians.

"Why did they even take your father there? They're not Russian, are they?" Sasha questioned, sitting on the arm rest of the sofa as she looked at me, confused.

"Briggs Yarrow is. That filthy cunt is the one that took my father and he's the one that is going to pay, along with Seth Wolf. Also along with all the other scum involved in my father's kidnapping."

Everyone around the room then looked confused, what the fuck are they confused about now?

"Briggs Yarrow is the one responsible for all of this?" Maverick involved himself once again as I nodded in reply.

"Yes, he has a big family, or so I've been told, and they're all dangerous criminals and they rule Russia and apparently own the fucking country." I explained to them all and just thinking about his name, family and country all made me feel ill.

"Why Russia? What is the reason for taking your father there? Why couldn't he handle his shit himself?" Maverick asked me once again, trying to get every little detail.

"I don't know. That's what I want to figure out. I'm guessing they took him there just because they thought we wouldn't follow them, considering the country they're in." I shrugged my shoulders, unsure of what the real reason was.

I looked towards Maverick, who was clearly pissed and raging.

"See. This is why I don't want you to go. It's too fucking dangerous, River. It could be a trap, a set-up. Have you even taken that into consideration? Why would Kingston willingly want to go against his father? None of this makes sense." Maverick was positive that something wasn't right.

Yes, I'm going to Russia with one of the people I disliked most in this world. But he and I both know I could kill him within an instant of him even trying anything. So it would already be game over for him, and the Kingston I know, isn't that stupid to get himself killed by the hands of me.

"Maverick, shut up. You're giving me a headache. I respect you and love you but I know what I'm doing. You all think I'm some little girl that has just been thrown into this harsh reality of a world and I'm not. I was born into this world. I was raised like this. I'm not an idiot. I'm my father's daughter. I know what I'm fucking doing." They need to stop being over-protective.

I know Maverick is just trying to protect and care for me but this is my decision. I'm not being forced to do it. I want to do it. For my father. And if I want something, I'm going to get it. I don't care who or what stands in my way.
