River's pov:
I let Kingston have his way for five minutes. Whatever he wanted to say, he'd have to get it all out within that little space of time.
"I didn't want any of this to happen and you know that. I didn't want your father to be killed by the hands of my own. I am sorry and I was just trying to help-"
"Help? By you trying to help my father ended up dead. I don't care how sorry you are. It's all your fucking fault and I want you to know that."
He went silent for a moment, not knowing what to say to my response.
"Yes, I know." Is all he said and it sounded more of a whisper than anything, almost as if he didn't want me to hear it.
"Is that all?" I asked, waiting for him to carry on.
He looked hesitant about what he was going to say next but went ahead anyway, "do you have a drinking problem?" He asked straight up.
He really means, am I an alcoholic?
"No." I lied but he already knows anyway.
"River-"
"I said no!" I snapped, becoming defensive.
I don't like admitting I have a problem with alcohol so anytime someone questions it, I get defensive.
"I was just asking." Kingston replied blankly, not seeming to care about my anger.
"Your five minutes is up." I told him as I avoided eye contact with him.
He nodded, making his way to the door without saying another word.
He turned to face me just before leaving the room, "one more thing, there's a party being held here tonight and you're going to be seeing a lot of people. But, just be careful."
Be careful?
I rolled my eyes at the pure fact that I'd have to communicate with people I don't even know, not even twenty-four hours after I found out about my fathers death.
"Got it." I answered, hinting for him to leave the room.
Without saying anything more, he left the room and I sighed out, already having enough of this stupid fucking country.
I could leave right now considering I came here to get my father but that failed miserably.
However, now, the main mission is revenge.
I'm going to make each and every one of them pay.
Pulling me out of my thoughts, Honor appeared at my door, staring at me.
"What do you want?" I asked, sounding annoyed.
"I want to speak to you." He gave me a tight smile as I stared blankly at him.
"Is it important?" I questioned, wanting to know more.
Honor's smile quickly faded then his features turned into a glare as he looked at me.
