AURORA BENSON walked out of the school building after the day had ended. From the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of the poster up on a bulletin board. As she read it a smile appeared on her face, it was a party, thrown by the one and only, Pacey Witter. He took her advice from the other day and decided he wasn't going to let Dawson ruin his birthday.

It was the perfect time to give her present to Pacey, but before she went home and got ready, her throat was dry, and she needed to grab something to drink, and maybe a small snack. She waited over by the car, until she saw her brother walk up to her.

The two of them got inside the vehicle. Joshua started the engine, and the ac blew through the vents. The doors slammed closed before he pulled out of the parking lot. "Hey, Uncle Josh, before we get home, do you mind if we stopped by the icehouse before we go home. I'm parched."

Joshua didn't say anything except for nod. He continued to drive and pulled into the icehouse parking lot. The car stopped, and the twins got out of the vehicle, the two of them walked into the building.

As they walked in, the sound of bickering filled their ears. Aurora furrowed her eyebrows before she turned to the cause of the noise, and it was the one and only, Dawson Leery and Joey Potter. She rolled her eyes, "could you order me a Pepsi, please," she said before she headed over there.

The fighting came to a pause when they noticed their friend walking up toward them. Aurora crossed her arms as she stopped in front of them. "Okay, what's going on? Your bickering is so loud, I'm pretty sure China might've heard it."

"Dawson invaded my privacy," Joey exclaimed. "I left my journal on my bed, and he read it."

Aurora scoffed as she turned to face Dawson. "Yeah, but, if I didn't, I wouldn't have found out Joey's true feelings about my director dream."

Aurora sighed, "okay, look, Dawson. You can't expect everyone to like your work at first. You know there are many directors out there who were rejected hundreds of times before they finally got their shot. Yes, Joey's your girlfriend and she's supposed to support you, but it's not her fault, she might have her reason not to like it."

"And Joey," Aurora continued, "I don't know how you felt it was necessary to write about that. I get it, you didn't expect anyone to read it, and your journal is for you to write your feelings, but I don't know what you thought you were going to gain by hating on Dawson's directing in your journal," she rambled.

The fight between the three of them now came to an abrupt stop when a brunette boy walked over toward them. Aurora looked up and she felt herself mentally smile at the cute boy. "Hi. I'm, um, Jack," the boy introduced himself.

"Can I help you?" Joey asked.

"Andie's brother," Jack clarified.

"Who's Andie?" Joey questioned.

"My sister."

"Look, that's fascinating, and I don't mean to be rude, but as you can see, I'm really busy here, so-"

"I'm here to interview for the job," Jack interrupted her rambling.

"Oh, yeah, right. Jack, Andie's brother," Joey sighed. "Um, listen, have you ever washed dishes before?"

"No, but I'm willing to learn."

"Good, interview's over. Kitchen's that way," Joey said, throwing a rag at him.

Aurora scoffed as she watched Joey throw the rag at him, which he caught. She glanced back at her brother who waited with two glasses in his hand. "Uh, wait, Jack, right? I'm sorry you had to walk into that. They're both in a rough part of their on and off relationship at the moment. You said you don't know how to do the dishes, right? I can show you."
