THE NIGHT after school, Aurora had needed to find a way to distract herself from the PSAT'S that were soon to come up. Her and Haley had planned another hang out once again. It wasn't unusual to see the two girls together anymore, it was normal, and if they weren't together, that would be suspicious.
The two were out around at the pier. Aurora and Haley sat at one of the top docks as they looked out at the water. The stars above shined brightly, and the moon reflected off the surface of the water, beautifully.
"Okay, okay, I have another fun activity for us to do, I've always wanted to do this," Haley spoke up as she stood up from her spot and held out her hand for the girl, who furrowed her eyebrows, hesitantly taking hold of her hand, "dance underneath the moonlight."
Aurora chuckled as she stood up, "you know that sounds incredibly cheesy," she commented with a smile rested on her face.
Haley shrugged, "oh, well. Guess I'm cheesy."
The two girls began to slow dance with one another in the moonlight. Aurora lifted her arm up and spun the blonde, the two laughing as she did so. Aurora smiled as they continued to dance with one another, she felt different when she was with Haley. She felt comfortable being around her, but she doesn't like girls, does she?
They stopped after a few minutes of dancing. Their laughter died down and now it was silent, the two couldn't take their eyes off of each other. Haley's eyes flickered down to her lips and just like she, she slowly began to lean in, and Aurora felt herself slowly lean in, but their lips never touched.
Aurora moved back and cleared her throat, "uh," she stammered. "Hales, I'm sorry. I- I can't. I mean we're friends," she told her, "And I'm not sure, I'm, you know, into girls," she informed with a saddened expression.
Haley shook her head, "no, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that," she apologized as she glanced down at the ground and let out a small laugh, "wow, I feel stupid, right now," she stated.
Aurora was about to open her mouth to say something, but Haley spoke up, "I like you, Aurora," she confessed. "But I understand if you don't like me back, I mean, if it's not what you're into, I can't force you," she shrugged. "I'm sorry if I messed things up between us."
"You didn't ruin anything, Hales," Aurora comforted. "I'm not going to judge you for who you like. I support you all the way, I just don't think it's something I'm into, you know," she told her. "Thank you for understanding," she said with a small sigh. "Are we, uh, still friends?"
Haley nodded and smiled, "of course."

DAWSON HUDDLED the group all in the corner of the library. There was awkward tension around everywhere. Lucas and Andie, Aurora and Haley, no one understood why. It was unusual to not see the two pairs not all up on each other and around each other 24/7 like they usually had been.
The awkward tension between Aurora and Pacey wasn't as strong because the break-up happened a month or two ago, the only bad part was being so close to each other, yet not being able to say a word to one another.
Dawson slammed down a yellow envelope onto the table. Pacey furrowed his eyebrows as he looked down at what was in front of them. "An envelope?" he questioned. "This is why you covertly hushed into a corner?"
