JOEY SPOTTED just the person she had been eager to find walking in the hallway. The Potter girl sped up her pace until she stopped by Aurora's locker. "Hey, Rora," Joey greeted with a small smile on her face. "Listen, there is this school that offers a $1500 scholarship to the high school student who can best amplify the grace of ballroom dancing, I don't want to do it alone, I mean it's bad enough that I already asked Pacey to be my partner, I-"

Aurora furrowed her eyebrows as she turned to look at the brunette. "Wait, what?" she asked. "You asked Pacey to be your partner? I mean not that I care or anything, but why couldn't you ask Lucas or Jack, or Dawson?"

Joey sighed, "trust me, it's not anything I promise," she told her. "Pacey owed me because he needed math answers and he needed to pay me back for something he did a little while ago," she informed. "Trust me, it's nothing between Pacey and I."

Aurora frowned but shrugged, "okay, fine, if you say so," she replied.

"Uh, anyways, I don't want me and Pacey to be alone together, so do you think you and Haley could do it with me?" she asked, a pleading look in her eyes, as she practically begged the girl to do it.

"Um, I don't think ball dances are really for me," Aurora replied. "You know, I've never been really coordinated, so maybe you could ask my brother, or Andie," she stammered, adding a small shrug at the end.

Joey gave her puppy dogs eyes which made Aurora roll her eyes and groan, "fine, but then you owe me, Potter."

"I know, already planned it."

HALEY ARRIVED to be her partner for the ballroom dance at the Starlight school. Haley had one arm placed on her waist and the other held her hand. Aurora, on the other hand, held her hand and had her other hand rested on her shoulder.

The two slowly swayed back and forth to the music. Both girls chuckled and laid their foreheads against each other as they saw Pacey and Joey terribly ballroom dance with another one. The two started to bicker with each other.

The older people had given the two girls looks as they danced together. Haley noticed the nervous look on Aurora's face and frowned, she used her hand on her waist to place a finger underneath her chin to face her head toward her, before she placed her hand back on her waist. "Hey," she smiled softly. "Ignore their looks, okay? It doesn't mean anything."

Aurora let a small smile appear on her face as she looked over at the girl. She bit her lip and nodded. "Yeah, yeah, your right," she stated as she took in a deep breath and continued to dance with Haley.

Haley laughed once again as she watched Joey stand on Pacey's feet. Aurora looked over at the pair and a small smile spread across her face as she watched the duo bicker with one another. That's the Joey and Pacey she remembers, not the Joey and Pacey that hung out every day and actually talked to each other.

"PACEY, I think that you are the worst ballroom dancer that I've ever seen," Aurora exclaimed. "I mean now I understand why you didn't dance at the homecoming. I mean, I feel bad for Chrissy, I can't imagine how she felt dancing with you," she teased as she innocently shrugged at the Witter boy.

Pacey sat up from his spot at the bottom of her bed and scoffed, "I was not that bad!" he defended. "It was Joey's fault, I mean, her feet shouldn't have been right there at the time," he explained.

Aurora rolled her eyes, "Pace, you are supposed to guide her, you are the man, the leader," she told him. "You are supposed to lead the dance, so that means, you need to understand what to do, here, come here." She stood up from her bed and held her hand out for him.

Pacey grabbed a hold of her hand and stood up as well. "Okay, look, I'll lead," she told him, and placed his hand on her shoulder, her hand found its way to his waist, and the two held her hand. "All right, ready?"

"Rory, this feels a little odd," he commented. "I mean, this is supposed to be the opposite."

Aurora shrugged, "well if you knew how to properly dance, we wouldn't need to do this," she replied. "Now, watch me."

Aurora had begun to instruct him on how to do the basic steps. The two swayed back and forth. Pacey stepped back, as Aurora stepped forward toward him, then she stepped back, as he stepped forward. Once she had taught him to do the same thing side to side, they repeated the routine a couple of times.

Pacey looked back up from watching their steps and looked up at her, as he pulled away from her, "okay, okay, I think I got it down, Benson, watch this," he told her, and Aurora shrugged, as they got back in position, this time, it was the opposite. Pacey's hand was on her waist, and her hand was on his shoulder.

At first, the two took it slow as they swayed at a slower pace so he could get used to it, but once he was ready, they sped up the process. Now, the two swayed around the bedroom, a smile painted onto both their faces. "Wow, Pace, you got it down pretty fast," she complimented.

Pacey grinned, proudly, "well, I try."

Aurora gasped at the unexpected turn and dip. She looked up into the Witter boy's eyes, as he did the same. The eye contact wasn't broken as she slowly straightened up her posture. The two felt themselves slowly began to lean in toward one another.

As their lips were inches apart from each other, Aurora pulled back and fell out of his grasp. "We can't," she told him. "We can't do this, Pace. I'm with Haley, and I like her, I can't do that to her," she informed as she sat back down on her bed, "I'm sorry."

Pacey shook his head, "no, don't be, it's my fault, I was caught up in the moment," he stated as he
