THE NEXT morning wasn't just any ordinary morning. It was the morning of her best friend's birthday. Aurora threw on an outfit for the day and went to the bathroom to do her usual routine. On her dresser top was the small white box. A smile came upon her face as she swooped it up and stuffed into her jacket pocket.

Aurora walked downstairs after she had grabbed her backpack. Lucas was already in the kitchen, waiting for his twin. On the other side of the kitchen counter was their uncle, who had been sipping on a glass of milk. "Good morning," she greeted with a smile plastered on her face.

"Oh, no. Today is that Witter boy's birthday, isn't it?" Joshua questioned, the smile on her face giving it away. He shook his head at her expression, "you tell him, I said to have a happy birthday, the big one six, man, that's a once in a lifetime opportunity."

"Uh, that 'Witter boy' has a name," Aurora corrected him. "And don't even act like you don't like him, sometimes I feel like you love him more than me," she informed with a small chuckle at the end. "But I'll let him know." She turned to face her brother and motioned for him to follow her, "come on, we gotta get to school."

THE BENSON twins pulled up at the school. Once they said bye to their uncle, Aurora hopped out of the car but before her and Lucas began to walk, she stopped him. She pulled the small white box from her jacket pocket. "Hey, Luke, do you think Pace will like this?" she questioned, and opened the box to reveal the two bracelets, one black one, and one white one.

Aurora picked up the white one in the box that would soon belong to him. It had four beads on it in order, it said 'P&A' with a small heart after it. "Here's his, and this one," she trailed off, picking up the black one, "is mine," she continued. It was the exact design. "It's matching friendship bracelets."

Lucas scoffed a laugh, "are you in kindergarten still or?"

Aurora gave him a stern look as she nudged his shoulder, "shut up," she mumbled. "Do you think he'll like it?"

Lucas knew he would. Pacey would love anything the girl had given it, even if it was the worst present in the world, he would take it, and keep it for the rest of his life. That's how much he loved her, but never admitted it. He nodded, "he'll like it, Rora."

Aurora smiled, "really?" he nodded once again, making her sigh in relief. "Oh, thank goodness," she breathed out, before she placed the two bracelets back into the small box. "Thank you, Luke," she told him. "I'm going to go find Pace," she stated, glancing around. "There's Andie, why don't you go talk to her something."

Without another word Aurora trailed away to go find the Witter boy. Lucas watched his twin walked off; he shook his head before he heads over toward the blonde, who began to walk up the steps to the building. "Andie! Andie!" he shouted.

Andie turned around to the familiar voice with a smile as she looked up at him. Lucas slowed down his speed and began to walk down the hallway with the girl as they entered through the door. "Hey, Lucas," she greeted back.

Lucas raised an eyebrow at her more tired voice. Usually, she was very cheery and had more pep in her voice. He looked down at the Mcphee girl, "you okay, Mcphee?" he questioned, curiously, not taking his eyes off of her.

Andie looked up at him and nodded, "who me? Yeah, I'm fine," she informed. "I'm just a lot more tired than usual. I stayed up most of the night doing the fifty assignments our teachers assign us a day," she exclaimed. "But other than that, I'm fine."

Lucas nodded, understandingly, "I understand. I couldn't get much sleep last night either." That was true, but it wasn't because of homework, it was because he couldn't stop thinking about, Andie Mcphee.

"Homework?" Andie questioned.

Lucas snapped out of his thoughts and nodded, hesitantly, "yeah, homework sure is kicking my butt right now," he replied, jokingly, which made the blonde laugh. The sound of her laugh made a smile form on his face.

Meanwhile, Aurora walked around the courtyard until her eyes landed on the two boys not too far away from her, Pacey and Dawson were having a conversation, until Pacey turned around and begun to walk away.

Aurora smiled before she rushed over toward the boy, once she got close enough, she grabbed his shoulders and jumped, "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Pace, happy birthday to you!" she sung, excitedly.

Pacey turned around to the girl's singing and smiled, brightly at her. He chuckled at her antics and brought her in for an embrace after the song. Her arms were wrapped around his torso, as his wrapped around her neck.

Aurora smiled into the embrace, and the two of them stayed like that for a few seconds before she pulled away. "Happy birthday, Pace! How does it feel to be sixteen now?" she questioned. "Just this morning, my uncle told me to tell you happy birthday, and that you only turn sixteen once."

Pacey smiled, "well your uncle is a smart man," he replied. "And so far, if I'm being honest, it has been terrible so far," he informed, which made the smile on her face fade away. He noticed the expression on her face, "first of all, I failed my driver's test, and second of all, my own best friend couldn't even remember it was my birthday today."

Aurora felt the frown on her face, "what?" she questioned in disbelief. "Dawson forgot? How could he forget? You're his best friend," she exclaimed.

Pacey shrugged at the mention of it. "That's what I thought too, but now that he and Joey are together, it's like I don't mean anything to him anymore," he admitted. "I'm used to my family forgetting about it, I mean they never cared much for it anyways, but he's my best friend, Rory, he's my brother, and he forgot."

Aurora nodded, understandingly, she could tell by the small tint in his eyes, that he was sad by the fact. "I'm really sorry, Pace. Dawson's an asshole, okay? But right now, how about we try to forget about it? It's your birthday, and I'm not going to allow you to be sad. That's the last thing you should be feeling, alright?"

Pacey thought about it for a moment. His mind was still caught up on the fact that he forgot. But when he snapped out of the small trance, a small smile came upon his face, as he nodded, "alright."
