THE SEVEN of them walked down the school courtyard. All of them extremely thankful that they had gotten out of doing their paper, and instead had an excuse to do a film instead. "I gotta say, Blair Witch didn't do it for me. I wasn't remotely scared, and that girl was irritating beyond measure, and I had to run to the snack bar in dire need of Dramamine," Jen informed.
Joey scoffed out a laugh as she shrugged, "I was scared," she admitted.
"No surprise there, Jo," Aurora commented.
"You are quite the skittish kitten," Pacey added.
Haley chuckled as she looked over in Joey's direction. "Hey, don't worry, I got scared too, Jo," she admitted. "I was scared that I hid underneath my dining room table for days," she informed, dragging out the last word.
The group let out small laughs. "I thought Blair Witch was groundbreaking," Dawson stated with a wide smile on his face. "Hollywood laid to waste by a couple guys with a camcorder. I mean how cool is that?"
"Frankly, I think my father makes scarier movies with his home video camera," Pacey spoke up. The teens began to walk up the staircase that led to the school. "You guys want scary? Check out the Witter family Christmas project. Guaranteed to make your teeth chatter."
"You know, before we're off to see the witch, I would like to opine that there are no such thing as witches," Jen spoke up. "I say witch is just a buzz word for a girl who happens her completely healthy, totally natural urges and explore her sexuality. But see you can't do that in the swinging 1690s without getting the good townsfolk all up in arms. Because what do these puritanical impotent creeps do? Instead of reaching out for the Viagra, they brand these girls as witches. They send them off to some Godforsaken Island to die a horrible, solitary death."
Aurora and Haley looked over at each other, both trying to prevent the laughs that were trying to escape from their mouths. "Well, lucky for you, Jen. I mean we live in a world where you can follow your natural urges without fear of persecution," Joey commented.
Jen turned to the Potter girl with a smile, "your right," she replied. "I would've been so burned at the stake right now."
"You and me both, Lindley," Haley added.
"Okay, I think it's time to set up for some interviews," Dawson spoke up. "Um, Joey, like to lend me a hand?"
"Sure," Joey replied.
"You guys rustle up some interviewees," Dawson said as he walked off with Joey at his side.
"Ja Wohl, Herr direction," Pacey nodded. "Have fun, kids!" he exclaimed. The five of them watched at the ex-couple walked off down the hallway together. "Doesn't that just warm your heart? Kevin and Winnie taking those first tentative step back to the wonder years."
"Actually, it just makes me really glad that I had the forethought to never hook up with you guys," Jen replied.
"Amen, sister Christian," Pacey remarked.

AS THEY made their way along the dock, Pacey turned back to look at them in disbelief. "Nobody brought snacks?" he questioned. "Come on, guys! What is a field trip without the snacks? Nobody brought the Doritos, the ho-hos? My kingdom for a coke wrapped in tin foil," he rambled.
"Uh, I brought a granola bar, is that counts," Haley spoke up with an innocent look.
The seven of them laughed before they stopped at the end of the dock to be met with a man. He unfolded the small piece of paper, "it's the, uh, Dawson Leery party, right?" he asked, glancing back up at them.
"Present and accounted for," Dawson replied. He held up his camera toward the man, "mind if I ask you a couple questions?" he asked. "I'm making a movie."
"Only if you return the favor," the man said, pulling out his own camera from his bag. Once he had his ready, he looked back up at the Leery boy. "All right? So, uh, what's your movie about?" he asked.
Dawson furrowed his eyebrows, "I'm making a documentary about witch island," he informed. "What's your movie about?"
"I'm making a documentary about all the people making a documentary about witch island
Dawson frowned at the response. He turned to look back at his friends but was disappointed to find that they had all been holding back their laughs. "Ever since Blair Witch hit, every geek with a camcorder and a dream's been out here, so with a little luck, this baby will get me on the festival circuit, right?"
"Yeah," Dawson trailed off slowly. "What can you tell me about Witch Island?"
"You know, you kids think it's all spooky fun and kitschy cool and all that, but just don't get so caught up in your little scooby-doo adventure that you get stuck out there past dark," the man told them.
"Oh, come on. We don't scare that easy," Jen replied.
"Is-is she calling me a liar? You calling me a liar? Is that what you're saying, huh?" the man frowned. "Girls died out there. You don't think they're a little ticked off about what happened all those years ago? You think they're above taking their anger out on an errant teenybopper or two every once in a full moon, huh? These girls, sometimes they just can't control their natural urges, you know? All right, all aboard, let's go."

FOUR OF them separated from Dawson, Joey, and Lucas to explore the island gift shop. Haley and Jen rushed off together toward the aisle of spell books and other witch-craft related things, as Aurora and Pacey headed straight toward the food.
Aurora's eyes scanned over the different snacks, in the distance, she heard Jen read off some spell that she found from one of the books to Haley. There wasn't much of a selection, but she grabbed what she wanted and headed over toward the cash register and paid for what she had.
Aurora browsed the store, and Pacey followed up behind her. "So," he spoke up, letting his presence known. "Uh, how are things with you and Haley? You two seem to be getting along now."
Aurora glanced back at the two before she turned back to him with a small smile plastered on his face. "Um, we're together now, actually," she confessed. "We talked about it the other day, and she was very understanding about it."
Pacey felt his heart drop to his stomach, but he ignored it for the sake of her happiness, that's all he wanted was for her to be happy, even if it meant watching the girl he loved, be in love with someone else. He smiled, proudly, "see, I told you, Rory. You had nothing to worry about. I'm happy for you two."
"Thanks, Pace," Aurora smiled.
