THE REST of the small break was over. It was time to return to school. Aurora adjusted the backpack strap that rested on her shoulder. Her outfit for the first day back consisted of a pair of dark baggy jeans along with a red tank top that went barely above the hem of her jeans, lastly, her outfit was completed with a white pair of converses.

Aurora stepped foot out of the vehicle, glancing over at her twin as he got out as well. Joshua looked up at the two siblings. The doors slammed shut before Joshua started the engine once again and drove away.

The two of them began to walk up to the school entrance. An unfamiliar blonde joined Lucas's side. "Hey, Lucas," the girl greeted with a small smile that rested on her face. Her eyebrow raised at the girl beside him, "and who might this be?"

"Uh, Jen, this is my twin sister, Aurora," Lucas introduced, and motioned to the girl, who smile at the girl. "She's the one who decided to run off to France last semester," Lucas explained with a smile on his face.

Jen turned around to face the girl, "ah, so this is the infamous, Aurora Benson," she spoke up. "Dawson, Joey, and Pacey talked non-stop about you, especially Pacey. It's nice to finally put a face with the name."

Aurora smiled at the girl, "I could say the same for you," she informed. "I used to help out your grandmother with her garden. She's told me a lot about you. So, it's nice to finally meet you," she told the blonde.

"Oh, great. If my grandmother told you stories, they probably weren't that pleasant, huh?"

The smile from Aurora's face faded as she shrugged, "um, only some of them. There were good stories," she stated. "But, hey, I'm not one to judge. The past is the past, am I right?" she commented, which only made Jen confused, she was the only one to not show a slight hint of judgement from her past.

Jen furrowed her eyebrows with a smile. Aurora caught glimpse of her best friend as they walked through the school doors. Her eyebrow raised as she saw him talking to this blonde girl. "Don't tell me, Pace has a girlfriend?"

Lucas looked in the direction she stared at. A scoffed chuckle escaped her lips, "oh no, that's Andie, she's new here. I met her a few days ago at the store, she's pretty cool, but very talkative," he explained.

"Oh, okay, well I'm going to go," Aurora stated. "Um, once again, it was nice to meet you, Jen."

Aurora walked away from the two of them and began to walk over to the Witter boy. "Well, well, well, Pace, and who might this be?" she questioned with a small smile on her face.

The blonde's voice perked up from the other side of the Pacey, "oh, hi, I'm Andie Mcphee," she introduced herself with a smile that began to stretch onto her face. "See, Pacey, it's not that hard to be nice to the new girl, now, is it?"

Pacey scoffed at her remark. Aurora glanced up at the brunette and smiled before she turned back to meet Andie's gaze. "I'm Aurora Benson, my brother told me you two met a couple days ago, uh, Lucas," she explained.

Andie's mouth fell a gape as she smiled, "oh, I didn't know the two of you were related? I don't know why he didn't bring up the fact that he had a sister," she rambled. Pacey watched the two girls interact with an awkward expression.

Aurora shrugged, "yeah, he seems to forget that a lot." The bell rung for first period; Aurora glanced up at the ceiling before she looked back over at Andie. "Well, I gotta get to class. It was very nice to meet you, Andie."

SCHOOL ENDED and Aurora couldn't be happier to go home. After she closed her locker, she began to walk out the doorway and into the courtyard area. Her eyes landed on the certain blonde that had begun walking the opposite direction she was headed. "Mcphee!" she called out. "Hey, Mcphee, wait up."

Andie furrowed her eyebrows when she heard her name being called. Her only friend here so far had been Chrissy Livingston. Her eyes lit up when she saw the brunette walk in her direction. "Oh, Aurora! Hey!"

The two girls stopped in their tracks as they met in the middle. Aurora cleared her throat as she smiled at the girl. "So, how was your first day?" she asked. "Uh, Cape side is easy to get too. It's your typical movie town. You have all your different high school stereotypes, all your local spots around town, and the terrible cafeteria food."

Andie laughed at her comment as she nodded in agreement, "I can definitely agree with the food," she told the brunette, who smiled. "But other than that, I actually had a pretty good first day."

Aurora nodded, "that's great. I wish my first day here went as well as yours," she informed. "On my first day of freshman year, I walked down the stairs and tripped in front of everyone, or at least everyone in the hallway at that time. It was probably the worst day of my life," she rambled, with a disappointed smile at herself.

Andie covered her mouth to contain her laughter, before she cleared her throat, and her hand fell back to her side. "I'm sorry, I won't judge. I'm sure people have had way worse first days than that."

Aurora shrugged, "oh, well," she commented. "And it's okay to laugh. I laugh at the thought of it too, so," she trailed off.

Andie nodded, "got it," she smiled.

IT WAS later on in the night. Aurora sat up in her bed, leaned against the bedpost. A pencil was in her hand as she wrote down some of the notes she had missed while she was gone. It wasn't much, but they were mandatory for the S.A.T.S that would be coming up toward the end of the school year.

Meanwhile, in the other room, Lucas leaned flat on his back as he looked up at the ceiling above. His hands were rested behind his head as he sighed. He had only met the girl a week ago and she had already been hung up in his mind. Andie Mcphee was the nicest, prettiest girl he had ever seen in Cape Side.
