Black as night,
Pink by day,
Oh, how I wonder how the lady fairs by this fine evening by the willow tree.
Is she happy?
or is she sad that the old grandfather had passed away?
With a wistful expression, I wonder why she doesn't tear.
The old man was a good fellow in his day,
brought smiles, and joy every-day,
but by dusk, a man turned devil,
leaving pain and havoc in his wake.
Which one did the lady prefer,
the good, or the tragedy that strengthens one?
we'll never know,
as she has fallen asleep in it's branches,
The Lady at the Tree.
End of The Lady at the Tree.
