One early sunny afternoon, my carer and me were in the car, driving down Smith Road, stopped at the traffic lights, about to make a turn onto the main road, to travel to Semaphore. When a butterfly decided to land on the hood. No idea why it chose to land there, but perhaps it wanted a quick break.
When the lights turned green, and made the turn. It stayed on the hood, but oh boy it was about to get more than it bargained for. as the vehicle reached 80km, and passed an intersection, the butterfly's legs clung to the smooth surface for dear life. it's wings flapping against the speed, at first, I thought it would let go, and drop off the side, or hit the windscreen with a splat.
but, somehow, it was able to hold on, despite some of it's legs coming loose, it held on. I and carer thought it was hilarious, but respect. Once we reached the next intersection, and stopped. the butterfly quickly got its bearings, and flew off, fluttering towards the nearby petrol station, flying near the plants before ascending to the roof, and beyond. soon flew out of sight, likley reflecting on it's decision and lesson. afterwards we had a laugh about it, and had a good time having seafood with chips near the beach, shopping before heading back home for the day.
