I had always known that my fathers family was a bit peculiar but I had never really asked about it

Father had never been one of conversation whenever I asked him about anything he would either just not reply or tell me to get lost and if he said anything it where small answers or not an answer at all

I still remember when I was six and I asked my father why I was kept behind closed doors and why I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone and he had merely raised his eyebrow and looked away then I got a bit angry because I wanted to see the world outside malfoy manor as well because until now I had never seen the world outside the tall metal gates and bushes that surrounded the huge mansion I lived in

And the windows didn't really offer any satisfaction for my curiosity because the mansion was surrounded in a huge kilometres long forest making it impossible to see any more than trees stretching out into the distance

And of course I had been to balls and banquettes weddings and birthdays in the black family but they always use apparition or floo powder so I still didn't see much of the outside world

I was allowed in the garden but that was a sad grass field with a few white peacocks that would screech and peck if you came near them and you could only see so far through the gaps in the gate

being at Hogwarts gives you a big deal of freedom and when I found that out in first year that the gates weren't locked and no one was going to keep you from just going outside and playing with others

this did come with a little bit of danger as I had ran straight into the forbidden forest the second I knew that I could this resulted in me finding a rather angry centaur who nearly kicked me making me run out

now at 13 i had seen most of the grounds and the world didn't look so rose coloured anymore because ever since I was forced to become a death eater I had been dragged through the wizarding world and I had seen the lowest and most dangerous points of society

the gaunt family had always been an absolute mystery to me but as I walked through the restricted section of the library with harry under the invisibility cloak a book caught my attention

"dark families and their ancestors"

I grabbed it off the shelf and slipped it under the cloak

That night in bed I read through the book but it wasn't what I had expected

The gaunt family

The gaunt family is a dark magical family

They stem from the founder of Hogwarts Salazar Slytherin and they are the only parsletongue speaking family in the wizarding world

They have an extensive history of inbreeding and practicing dark magic they died out in 1926

The last 3 gaunts where

"Marvolo, his son, Morfin, and his daughter, Merope, were the last of the Gaunts, a very ancient wizarding family noted for a vein of instability and violence that flourished through the generations due to their habit of marrying their own cousins."

From what is known marvolo gaunt died of disease in 1925

Morfin gaunt (the son) was captured in Azkaban after confessing to the murder of the riddle family where he still is

Merope gaunt mysteriously died in 1926 not much is known about her other than the fact she was a squib and she had a muggle lover

I read the page over and over and nowhere did it mention my father

They didn't know...they didn't have a clue that Merope hadn't mysteriously died but had died in childbirth of my father and that the gaunt family weren't dead at all or poor

Father had once slipped the story to me

His mother had used a love potion on Thomas riddle (senior) and got pregnant with him then died in childbirth

And I knew for a fact they wherent poor at all they hid their money from the world as they were paranoid people would steal it but now with my father the money had resurfaced and it was an amount that makes any jaw drop

This just proved that the world really didn't knowmuch about my family at all and almost nothing about my father and definitely nothingabout me meaning if I wanted to attack then I had the element of surprise in mypocket and that power gave me serge of blind pride
