I hadnt heard from father in a while I hadnt been called or received a letter
I decided to risk it and i apperated home after class
Like normal the manor seemed deserted I thought the best place to look was his study
I slowly walked up the stairs
Still no one in sight
I walked the other flight of stairs to his study
I knocked and heard nothing so I slowly opened the door
"Father??"
He was standing by the window and staring out with an almost sad expression I can normally read his emotions but this was something different
"What is it delphini what do you want"
"I wanted to check up-"
"On me?? Why"
I didnt have an answer for that I didnt even know why it came to mind in the first place it felt almost natural to go check on him
I walked towards him to see what he was looking at
"I asked you a question delphini"
"I just had to father it was a gut feeling I'm sorry"
He looked down on me and he was almost scowling but he didnt do anything and let me get closer to him
"Are you okay"
I managed to blurt out knowing he hated the question
"Fine"
His tone suggested otherwise but he would never show that or act on it
"Okay"
I acted like I noticed nothing and I slowly inched closer he and i where now an arms length apart
He didnt object no he did something I hadnt expected

Put his arm around me and pulled me in slightly
Not a hug but close enough to look like one
"Dont ever speak of this delphini promise me you wont I cant have people thinking I'm weak"
I nodded and got a little closer to him now it really was a hug as I wrapped my arms around him
I wasnt gonna let that opportunity slide
"Love isnt weak"
I whispered and I dont think he heard
