Chris and I pulled into the sandy car park at my great aunt's beach house. I stepped out and smelled the salty, New Jersey beach air. Ocean City was one of my most favorite places ever.

I guessed where we were going and I told him I have a great aunt that owns a beach house near here. We dropped our stuff off there and grabbed some of her beach items.

We were on the strip of beach that was a walking distance from the house. It wasn't really crowded because most of the tourists go to the beaches near the boardwalk.

We stepped out onto the Stoney path that lead to the beach. Chris grabbed my hand despite the ridiculous amount of stuff he was carrying. I offered to help but he refused and kept walking. He stumbled because he could barely see through the mess of chair legs and boogie boards.

We finally arrived at a spot that we both liked and Chris finally dropped all the stuff. I slipped off my flip flops, shorts and shirt, revealing my favorite blue bikini, and grabbed Chris by the hand and pulled him towards the water. He didn't budge. He just smiled at me behind his RayBans. I hopped on my burning feet and kept pulling. "Come on!!!!" I whined. "I wanna go to the water." He just kept smiling. "Make me." he said smirking. "Fine then." I said and I stomped off towards the water.

I hopped in and crashed into a wave. I stood there remembering the times when Ade and I would come here. I felt a sob and choked it back I would not ruin today. I took a deep breath in until Chris grabbed me by the waist and swung be around. I screamed and laughed until he let me go and I came crashing down into the water. "Chris!" I said wiping the salt water out of my eyes. "Chris!" he mocked in a high pitched girl voice. I shot him a look and he just laughed harder.

He picked me up bridal style and carried me into the waves. A giant wave came crashing down and knocked us over. We both resurfaced laughing. He pulled me close and I looped my arms around his neck. He pulled me close and kissed me. I kissed him back not caring about anyone around us the smile never leaving my face.

We stayed at the beach until sunset.

Chris and I watched the rose, gold and deep purple sky from the beach. Chris had set out a picnic blanket and we were laying on it watching the beautiful sunset. Chris had packed a picnic dinner for us and I was munching on celery sticks when he rolled over and propped himself up on his elbow to talk stare at me. He smiled and I smiled. "I have to tell you something." he said. "What is it?" I said in a cutesy voice bopping him on the nose with my celery stick.

"Well.......... the ummmmm..........boys and I.... we go on this ummmmm.......... summer long.... road trip and I wanted you to ummmmm come with us." he said avoiding my gaze and scratching the back of his neck. I laid there stunned. He wants me to go on a road trip with him. "Everything is generously funded by my absentee parents. If you can call them that. You won't have to pay a cent." He said sheepishly. I smiled. "Of course." I said. I got up and kissed him. "Of course." I'm going on a road trip with the bad boy and his posse. Yay!!!!!!!

After the sun set and it got cold Chris and I headed back to the beach house.

We picked up all the stuff and headed out. We walked hand and hand (as much hand as Chris could manage through the stuff), the moon shining on the sidewalk.

We got back to the house and showered off the sand and salt water. I slipped on a sundress and wedges and walked down to the living room where Chris was sitting. He was wearing cargo shorts and an aero tshirt. He and I decided to go down to the boardwalk for an hour or two then we'd come back and spend the night here then drive back in the morning.

We got into the car and drove to the boardwalk. I could see the Ferris wheel materializing out of the inky blackness. I was so excited.

We hopped out of the car and I pulled Chris towards the rides. "Come on, Slowpoke!" I laughed out. "I'm coming just let me get Dippin' Dots!" he said pulling me towards the little stall by the arcade. I groaned. "As long as I get some." "Fine, fine. What flavor?" He said. "You are the first girl I've met who doesn't want Dippin' Dots." he said smirking. "Well I do want some but I wanna go on the rides more." I said sweetly grabbing onto his arm. "What flavor so you want?" he said smirking. "The rainbow one." I said. "Ok." he turned towards the man running the stand. "One cookies and cream and one rainbow both regulars." "$8.00" the guy said annoyed. Chris handed the guy some money and the guy handed us our dots.

I shoved a spoonful into Chris's mouth and smiled. "Do you want more or do you want to ride the rides?" I asked smirking. He mumbled something incoherently and I just smiled and said "Rides? Ok." I dragged him towards the ticket machine and grabbed his wallet and shoved a 20 into the machine. It spat out a couple sheets and I pulled 8 off and put the rest in my bag.

I dragged him over to the Ferris wheel and gave the tickets to the ride operator. "Sir, no food on the ride." the giant woman said lazily. "Oh sorry." Chris said red faced. Chris handed me my ice cream and I ate it all in under a minute. He ate his too and followed me onto the ride. We sat down and Chris put his arm around me. I snuggled in happily. "Happy now?" he questioned as the ride began to move. "Yeah." I said. Everything was perfect. I was with the guy I love in the place I love and I'm going on a summer long road trip with him and our friends. I turned to him and said, "I'm on a Ferris wheel that only goes up my friend."
