CHAPTER 7- LIKE A DATE ?

Derek 's pov

I went to pick up riya after the school. I am going to take her park today, like i promised. She would be very happy that finally i remembered something, it was rare that i got time like this and  i know she loves to go out  only us and play together in the park. Blake said he will cover up my part time work at the restaurant, so i don't have to worry. I don't know what will i do without him.

" Ricky...." Riya calls when she run towards me. She was the only one who called me Ricky.

" How was your school, angel?" I asks bent down and picking her up.

" It was good. What about you?" She asks beaming.

"It was great. So, like i promised let's go to park today and buy you some sweet icecreams" I says pinching her bubbly  cheeks.

"You remembered?." She ask amused and a bit shocked. It was my fault that i don't have much time to spend with her. She was mostly alone, not like all other kids at her age but she never complained. Sometimes i am disappointed in myself for being such a bad brother to her.

"Of course, i remember! I have a great memory than you think riya and your every wish  is my command " I said playfully  makes her giggle.

" Ricky, can we take jay too. He would love to come with me." She says curiously enthusiastic about inviting her best friend.

"If his mom is okay with it ,i don't have a problem." I said after thinking for a second. Jay was same age as her and a sweet kid.

"I will go and ask to his mom ,wait a second" Riya said jumping down from my arms before running away.

The weather was nice, not so hot and not so cold. Riya was playing something with jay running here and there laughing loudly.

I sat on the bench that can have a perfect view of them taking a deep breath of fresh air and closing my eyes. The wind was blowing slowly and the sun was shining brightly. I felt calm and relaxed.

I opened my eyes hearing the loud laugh of riya and jay. It made me happy to see her laugh like that. I take out my phone to take some pictures of them playing but furrowed eyebrows noticing some new messages from an unknown number.
