"I'm just sayin', like, I don't understand why you don't at least try with Kiara," JJ, who was in the passenger seat, whined to John B, who was driving the van.

Wyatt sat in the back by herself, enjoying the ride to Lana Grubb's place by listening to the two's conversation. She wasn't in a very talkative mood this morning.

Mostly because her face hurt from the beating she took yesterday. John B had yet to ask, but she knew he and her other friends eventually would.

"She clearly likes you," JJ continued. "She's like, 'oh, John B.'"

Wyatt laughed at the childish way JJ described Kie, pretending his voice was hers and moaning JB's name.

"Is that what she does?" John B asked, playing along.

"She's sketching about you diving, and then she kissed you, bro."

"She kissed me on the cheek," JB clarified. "It's not like we were making out."

"Still counts," Wyatt added.

"Low-hanging fruit, bro," JJ said. "Don't pretend that you don't notice. I see it in your eyes. You're like, 'I kinda like that,' and you start blushing."

"I blush?"

"Yeah."

"You do blush," Wyatt smirked.

JB looked at her through the rear view mirror. "Whose side are you on?"

"I'm on the side of love."

John B shook his head before seeing JJ grab the compass off the dashboard. "Hey, don't–"

"I was just looking at it," JJ whined. "I gotta admit, your father's compass in Scooter's boat, that's freaky."

"Yeah. That's why we're going to talk to Ms. Lana, figure this whole thing out."

"And I'm sure she would just love to talk to us," JJ played with the compass. "It's not like her husband just drowned or anything."

It took another thirty minutes before the van pulled up to the pink and green painted hippie house. Personally, Wyatt loved it.

John B turned off the van and the three got out, walking towards the entrance.

"You know what this house looks like?" JB asked.

"Whoever lives here smokes too much weed," JJ answered.

"Whoever lives here is a lot of fun," Wyatt smiled.

The group slowed to a stop when they heard glass shattering and things being broken inside. It sounded a little too much like home for JJ and Wyatt.

"Bullshit!" a man's voice yelled from inside.
