"Let go of him!" Kie shouted at the guard that was escorting JJ out of the party. "You can't just boot him!"

"Excuse me, ma'am?" the guard paused.

"I invited him here," she continued while her parents tried to shut her up. "I'm a member of this club."

JJ took this as a chance to shove the man into a server holding several drinks on a tray, all of which smashed to the ground.

"Hey, mandatory power hour at Rixon's, Kie," JJ called, turning to his other friends. "Pope, you and Wyatt as well, alright? Wherever she– ah, there she is. Rixon's Cove. Let's roll. Alright, Kie, come on. Workers of the world unite. Throw off your chains!"

Pope turned around to come face-to-face with his dad.

"Don't do it, Pope. No."

Pope took off his apron, dropping it in the grass.

"Enough of this, son. Don't do this. Don't do this! Where the hell do you think you're going?"

Wyatt took her own apron off, folding it messily and setting on the table before joining her friends.

"Hey, Wyatt!" Heyward shouted.

"Sorry, pops," she called back with a smile. "But, to be fair, you're not even paying me, so..."

She hugged John B, who she hadn't seen in two days, and then JJ, who she was immensely worried for.

JJ hugged her tightly, wrapping his arm around Wyatt's shoulders as they hurried out of the venue and towards the HMS Pogue docked down the beach.

John B steered the boat a ways along the shoreline until stopping at a clearing. After collecting wood and getting a fire started, the crew sat contently, enjoying each other's company.

"Hey, guys," Pope spoke up. "So, like, my dad's already gonna kill me. So what's this mandatory meeting about?"

John B responded with finger guns.

JJ poked at the fire with a stick, turning to his friend. "Might as well tell him, man, before we're gaffed."

With a low chuckle, Wyatt leaned closer to JJ for warmth, but also because she missed him. He had changed out of his server's uniform on the way here. The boy wrapped his arm around her shoulders instinctively.

"You ready for this?" John B asked the group.

"Yeah," they answered out of sync.

"So," he started slowly, "the gold never went down with the Royal Merchant."
