After last night's success, the group was itching to figure out how to take all that gold off of Mrs. Crain's wrinkly old hands. John B had mentioned a total of five to six hundred bars of gold down in the well.

Wyatt sat in the back of the Twinkie with Kie and Sarah, going over Pope's drawing of what the well looked like and its measurements.

"He said it looked something like this," Kie said, holding the paper out for the other two girls to see. "That's fifty feet down, and they're using a hundred foot rope. So, I guess this little wagon will go straight to the gold room."

Sarah chuckled, "who drew this?"

"Who do you think?"

The girls laughed, and Wyatt noticed Kiara's stare linger on Pope for a little too long.

"Kie, it's not gonna work." Their conversation was interrupted as JJ approached the van, dropping three gold bars onto the floor. "We can't pawn this if there's a giant wheat symbol on it."

Kie held up a blowtorch. "It's gonna work."

"All right!" JJ nodded and grabbed the torch and the bars, walking off with them. Kie was hot on his trail, trying to get the torch from his hands as he held it above her head.

"Shouldn't someone supervise him?" Sarah asked.

"So, what, are we gonna just melt the wheat symbols off?" Wyatt asked, silently agreeing with Sarah and exiting the Twinkie with her.

JJ had already thrown the bars into a cooking pot by the time she was standing next to him, and Kie was putting on safety goggles. Sarah went to sit next to John B while Pope, JJ, and Wyatt stood by to watch Kie work her magic.

Apparently, the plan was to melt all three bars of gold together. Wyatt didn't think it was the smartest plan, but as long as it worked, she didn't care.

Kie smiled as she turned off the torch, with JJ throwing his hands up in victory. He went to grab the pot before Wyatt smacked his hand.

"That'll melt your skin off."

JJ nodded, pursing his lips. "Good point."

It took a few hours before the gold was deemed cool and safe enough to touch, prompting the Pogues to pile into the Twinkie.

"We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz," Wyatt sang quietly as her friends chattered idly around her. John B was driving, and it took a good twenty minutes to reach the pawn shop.
