Chapter 35

Val and I did a hip hop dance to Somebody by Natalie La Rose, it was funny and we were actually having fun just messing around. He seemed more nervous lately, trying to watch what he would say. "Let's run it again." I grabbed his arm pulling him towards the mirror. "Wait, J I need to tell you something."

We sat down on the steps with a dead silence, I waited for him to start talking a tell me what he had to say. I gave him a look before he sighed and looked down at his hands then back up at me. "Are you cheating on me or something?" I questioned. "God no, I promised you I'd never hurt you again. Anyways, I saw the pregnancy test."

My heart was shattering, I really didn't want to talk or thinking about it anymore. "It was negative.." I whispered, shrugging trying to keep the tears in. "At first I didn't think about having a child, but once I saw that sign - I instantly thought about having one."

"J, why didn't you tell me? I would've understood." Val shook his head, looking away from me. "I don't know, I just-" I whispered, trying to form the words but he completely cut me off.

"No Janel! We are in this together and we have to talk to each other instead of hiding things from each other, you're my everything and i'd want to help you with everything." Val added, calming himself down. I smiled, kissing his shoulder softly - he pulled me into a tight hug before we started the dance all over again

I officially hate my iPhone, It was glitching and just wouldn't let me call or text anyone. When I finally walked out of AT&T, I got a text from Derek with a couple missed calls.

Derek: Thanks again for last night & tell Val I'm sorry.

Me: Sorry for what? He was fine with it.

Derek: Oh yeah.. Sorry I thought he would be mad for some reason.. Anyways, have a great Day J.

He was definitely hiding something, But I was too exhausted to investigate. As I got into my car, an arm grabbed mine and pulled me back.

"Did you miss me?"

There was fear before it was replaced with a smiled. "Holy Crap, Maks! You scared the hell out of me." He just sent me a cheeky smile before giving me a hug. "How are you? How's Meryl and the baby?"

"Everything is going great.." He said, practically red to the cheeks. "How did you do it first? You seem like the scary, intimidating one but you have her and now a child."

Maks chuckled, stuffing his hand into his pockets. "I might be the intimidating one but I'm also the romantic one. Val was the cocky one also the flirty guy. There's a big difference between us relationship wise."

"yeah, I know that for sure." I shook my head. "You've changed his though, never thought he was ready for commitment until last week."

"What changed your mind?"

"he came and told me something, you know with the winning you back he learned something. Now, he was ready to take the beg step and get over his fear." Maks nodded.

"The fear of what?" I chuckled, shaking my head. "Commitment, love. He's a shutter -- doesn't let people in . At all."

Looking away, I nodded in understanding before Maks sighed and lifted chin up. "He loves you way more than you think Janel, he swore to me, my parents and whoever you could think of that he wouldn't break you. Believe that."

"thank you so much Maks.."

"I'll see you soon, tell Val I said a hello." He nodded, before looking around. "Definitely will, see you soon love."

I got into my car and started the way home, there was a smile on my face as I thought about what Maks said. He really was a good brother and Val was a good man.
