Chapter 19:

The Truth

[Amber's POV]

I've never been this scared. When Mara told me that Scarlet hurriedly grabbed the key of AJ's car and drove it away without telling anyone where she's going, totally made me panic.

She's not even answering my calls nor Mara's. I tried texting her but she didn't replied.

"Calm down, Amber. She might've went home or something." Mara calmed me down and made me sit.

"But.." I tried to talk but got really frustrated. Hindi ugali ni Scarlet ang umalis ng walang paalam kahit gaano pa ka-importante ang bagay na dapat niyang puntahan. She's not the walk-out type of woman. I know that because she's been mine.

Lumabas saglit si Mara. So I was left in my seat, worrying about Scarlet. I tried to call her for a couple of times pero di pa rin niya sinasagot.

"I called her mom, she's not in their house." Worried na din si Mara as I see her reaction.

I stood up and went outside.

"Where are you going?" Habol sakin ni Mara.

"I'll find her." Tipid na sagot ko.

I was about to put my phone in my pocket pero nag-ring ito. And it was Scarlet.

"Scarlet! Oh my goodness! Where are you?! Bigla-bigla kang umaalis and dinala mo pa yung kotse! Paano na lang kung may nangyaring masama sa inyo ng baby mo?" I was really worried that I over-reacted to her call.

"Look, I'm sorry. But I saw Ambruce, and spur of the moment decision 'tong ginawa ko, sinundan ko siya. Actually I'm in front of his house." She explained. Ambruce? He went out there and drove that car for Ambruce? Why on earth will she do that? She's gonna worry me to death!

"But Scarlet, you should've called me first. I don't want anything to happen to you, and to your baby." I calmly told her.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to help you. For you to talk to him. This might be the only chance we got." Sagot niya habang humihikbi. Oh no! I don't want to hear nor see her cry again.
