Giyuu, Kanae and Shinobu had been running through a heavily forested area for some time now, dodging trees and such as they rapidly approached their destination.
"You said it's a little further ahead?" Giyuu questioned as he wasn't too familiar with this area of forest.
"It should be a few more minutes." Kanae responded as she looked back at her little sister.
Shinobu was falling behind yet again.
Giyuu noticed it too but tried not to say anything.
"I'm fine, just go up ahead, I'll catch up soon." Shinobu said as she struggled to keep up with the clearly faster pillars.
Kanae didn't want Shinobu to leave her side, these missions were extremely dangerous at times and her little sister wasn't even a hashira. If she wasn't there to protect her, then......
She didn't want to think about what could happen to her.
"Tomioka-San, you should go up ahead, I'll stay back with my sister." Kanae suggested.
"That won't be necessary." Giyuu said as he lowered his running speed.
The three remained in silence until they arrived at the target area. As they cleared the tree line Giyuu was the first one to come to a halt as he skidded across the ground.
They had arrived at a decent vantage point for their mission location. The three stopped and looked down at a rather large temple, it had a few adjacent buildings surrounding it in a semi circular arrangement.
"This looks to be it." Kanae said as she scanned the temple grounds before looking up and seeing her crow circle overhead.
Giyuu looked around trying to find any signs of human activity but failed to spot anything.
"It's so quiet." Shinobu noted.
"Then that means there must be a demon in the area, it's always like this when one's around." Kanae said noticing how little the wildlife around barely made any noise, hardly even a cricket chirped.
"I don't like the layout of this place, this'll be risky if we all go in." Giyuu said as he thought of ways to infiltrate the temple grounds without being spotted.
Kanae approached her sister with a very serious expression.
"You'll stay here, me and Tomioka-San will go in. IF we do not return by sunset you can go in as well." Kanae put heavy emphasis on that "if" part.
Shinobu didn't protest her sister's commands, after all, she was the hashira.
Giyuu mentally prepared himself for what was about to happen, from what he could recall, upper moon 2 had some sort of ice blood demon art. It was best to either completely avoid or not come in contact with anything the demon may throw at them.
"It Was crazy fast! And he had these weird fan things, but I THE GREAT LORD INOSUKE of the mountain was able to avoid his attacks!" Giyuu remembered some of the words Tanjiro's friend told him about the upper moon.
"Stick close, I have a bad feeling about this place." Giyuu cautioned the two sisters.
"Wouldn't it be better if we split up and looked for the demon?" Kanae questioned. This was a rather good point, but Giyuu couldn't risk it.
"It will only be to search the place, afterwords if we do not find anything we can split up." Giyuu suggested back.
He wasn't too sure if this would actually be a sufficient excuse, but he couldn't just tell her outright. What would he even say? "Hey I think we should stick together cause there's an upper moon here?", Giyuu really didn't know how to dance around the fact that the third most powerful demon in existence is lurking somewhere nearby.
