A full year had passed by so quickly while Giyuu trained with Sanemi and Gyomei. Every chance he got he would go and train with one of them. Gyomei for physical strength and training his senses in maintaining "the see through world" and Sanemi for swordsmanship and speed.
He spent the majority of the year not only getting stronger or faster, but also working towards being able to access and maintain the see through world for as long as possible. It required a heavy concentration to maintain, something which was extremely difficult to do mid-battle. With Gyomei's assistance and training Giyuu was able to use it for roughly 20 to 30 minutes at maximum. That was, for the time being, his upper limit. Past that would strain his eyes too much and cause temporary blindness and pain.
Now came time for a few new additions to the ranks.
"My children, I would like to formally introduce two new pillars as of today." Kagaya said as he gestured with one hand towards the kneeling Iguro and Mitsuri.
The two both stood in unison, Mitsuri looking much more nervous then Iguro. Rengoku's staring and thumbs up only added to her embarrassment.
"If you would be so kind, please introduce yourselves."
The two pillars looked at each other before Obanai took it upon himself to speak first.
"Iguro Obanai, I am the Serpent Hashira." Obanai tried his best to project his raspy voice to the others.
Mitsuri stayed silent for a moment while she mustered up the courage to speak.
"Kanroji Mitsuri, Love hashira!" She said nearly shouting. A token of her training with Rengoku.
Rengoku's smile beamed bright at his former student.
The two hashira promptly knelt back down into their spots so that the meeting could continue.
Kagaya smiled as he looked at his expanding talents in front of him.
"It seems day by day I am found to be most fortunate." He said before refocusing onto the meeting matters at hand.
"There is one more thing I would like to mention to you all." Kagaya cleared his voice making sure everyone would hear.
"The hashira will be holding a special training."
"I have discussed the matter with Himejima and Tomioka, they are to both be holding separate individual training."
Sanemi raised his hand.
"Yes my child?"
"When will this take place? And, do we all have to participate."
"I will answer this question." Gyomei responded while he stood up from his kneeling position.
"Those who can beat myself and Tomioka in a fight shall be exempt from the training as per our master's instruction."
Giyuu stood up as well.
"Would you two be so kind as to lead them there." Kagaya asked.
"Yes Oyakata-Sama." They replied in unison.
Kagaya followed behind the pillars as the two guided the group.
"I hope you all will like the renovations." Kagaya said hoping for a positive reaction.
The pillars were astonished at the sight, the large clearing behind the headquarters had been completely changed. No longer was it a green field of grass but instead a massive stone floored arena.
"I had some of the kakushi build it."
"This is new, and oh so flamboyant!" Tengen said with his usual flair as he adjusted his headband.
