Giyuu leapt over the debris and hit the ground running, he looked at the sight in front of him as he quickly came over.
The others were already in the thick of it battling the demon king, and he was late to the party.
Giyuu could tell just based off how much damage Rengoku, Mitsuri, Obanai and Kanae had taken that they had likely been the first ones to engage Muzan before the fortress collapsed.
The showdown had already begun right before the fortress collapsed and he was just now getting to the scene.
Tanjiro was not present and Muichiro and Shinobu couldn't fight this. There was now a total of seven hashira in the fight including him.
Everyone else was already poisoned and the poison Tamayo injected Muzan with hadn't taken full effect yet since he escaped the fortress.
He wasn't weakened much so his speed and power were a force to be reckoned with, that much was clear.
He had likely eaten some slayers to regain his stamina after he escaped Tamayo's trap but was stopped by the hashira before he could kill too many.
Giyuu ran in to cover Obanai and Kanae who were receiving the brunt of the attacks since they were the closest at the moment.
Those sharp serrated whips of Muzan were fast and extremely difficult to avoid, especially for the poisoned hashira.
Giyuu's added inclusion only bolstered their assault by a little bit to compensate for the quickly deteriorating hashira.
"CAW CAW ONE HOUR UNTILL SUNRISE!" The crows chanted in unison overhead.
All they had to do was hold out for another hour, that's all they needed to do.
Their blades cut into Muzan's body but there was no lasting damage, nothing they did had any signs of even working.
Every cut, slice, tear, it didn't matter what they did, nothing even seemed to phase the demon king.
The hashira fought with everything they had, many of them were already exhausted or tired out and injured from previous battles in the infinity fortress.
The least damaged out of all of them was Obanai, Gyomei and Giyuu but that wasn't much since the faster hashira were being targeted by Muzan the most.
The most annoying rats were to be killed first, that's what the demon king was aiming for.
Just then a sharp odd feeling coursed through his demonic veins.
He felt something was off with his body, all of a sudden he could notice the small feeling of being out of breath.
What was going on? His body seemingly instantly took a small sharp decline in speed and strength.
"Don't give out on us now!" Sanemi shouted as he covered Mitsuri from a sudden fast strike.
If even one of them faltered now it would increase the workload on the others exponentially.
"Hit my blade!" Giyuu shouted across the field as he ran by and struck Obanai's blade.
All of a sudden it turned a dark crimson color.
Obanai had no time to think about what Giyuu just did.
He cut down a tentacle whip that had come to attack him with his blade.
He watched as the tentacle retracted back after being swiped by his blade, they hadn't done that before.
There was a noticeable but small delay before it regrew the cut off end and came to attack him again.
Giyuu ran around focusing on dodging and hitting everyone's swords.
