Hello, it is I, the author. I'd like to thank you for reading this far. I thought I'd make a chapter to clear up some parts of the story since a few readers have had questions about certain statements or plot points.

(Feel free to skip this chapter if you have no questions and wish to continue the story.

Plothole #1.
—Yes at the beginning of the story it is said that Sanemi died before Giyuu but canonically Giyuu was actually the older of the two, therefore he should've died first.

To answer that I actually changed Sanemi to be the older one based off his more jaded, disgruntled personality. He always seemed like the older one anyway.

Plot point #1
—In part 1 this statement is said "he would get to fight at this current time, the 1st and 2nd most powerful hashira". This is referring to Gyomei and Tengen as the 1st and 2nd most hashira.

-This statement is referring to in that moment, not all time. Tengen at this point in the timeline is the 2nd most experienced and powerful hashira, strength wise. He has the fastest running speed and has years of elite shinobi training, making him much better in a fight against a human opponent (Giyuu). He also has his super hearing and uniquely dangerous and destructive fighting style. So in my opinion at that point he is a far better combatant then a also less experienced Sanemi.

-plot point #2
Since the timeline of events isn't exactly super clear in the manga or anime all the time there is a lot of interpretation I had to do to actually adapt it to make sense. Exact birthdays and ages are said, but when they turn those ages isn't exactly stated in the manga. For instance, the day Giyuu turned 21 or whenever Tanjiro turns 16, neither are given an exact time of occurrence but are stated to have had happened. It is close to impossible to determine exact times outside of general seasons from the manga depiction since no dates are given in universe. So with some basic math and a little bit of imagination we can give good estimates on approximate ages during the story.

—Explanation:

Giyuu is sent back 8 years from the day of his 25th birthday, so he's 17 by the start of Part 1.

1 month(part 5)+1 full year(Part6)+ 6 months(part 9)+1 month(Part 10)=1 year and 8 months passed in between part 1 and part 10 just counting time skips in each part.

At the end of part 10/11 Giyuu is 18 soon to be 19 in a few months, and Shinobu is 15 soon to 16 in the same amount of time.

By part 13, at bare minimum 2 full years must've passed because he meets Tanjiro when he is 19.

Giyuu is confirmed by backward calculations to originally meet Tanjiro when he's around 19 years old since he meets him again when he's 21 (confirmed) and two years passed with tanjiro's training with Sakonji, meaning Giyuu was most likely 19 when he rescued the two siblings.

He would be 19 and Shinobu would be 16 by Part 13 by that math.

By the time part 19 rolls around he would be somewhere in between 20-21 canonically (he was confirmed 21 by the time Tanjiro gets captured) but since the timeline of events isn't too clear or explicitly stated in the manga. I'd say he's 21 shortly after Tanjiro's final selection. Making him 20 by part 19 and Shinobu 17.

That's my interpretation of the timeline if that helps make it more clear since it is harder to understand in just a purely text format.

-plot point #3

—Kanae's death date isn't exactly known but we know that Shinobu was 14 at the time and Kanae was 17. So I increased Kanae's age by 1 so she would be 18 (similar to Sanemi who was also aged up to be 2 months older then Giyuu.)

You may be asking, but if Shinobu is 14 and Kanae is 17 (18 in this story) when she was supposed to be killed, then it being Giyuu's birthday the day before the mission where Kanae died doesn't make sense. Since Giyuu's original birthday takes place at least 2 weeks prior to Shinobu's which would only make her 13 to be 14 according to their (slightly) over 3 year gap in age.

Simple fix, I swapped their birthdays so Shinobu's is early in the month and Giyuu's is later in the month.

-Power scaling

Honest to god trying to power scale every hashira is a pretty hard task (and highly debatable) but I'll make it simple for now.

Currently the most powerful hashira (in a fight against demons) in descending order goes:
1.Gyomei/Giyuu- both excel at different things but are fairly evenly matched.
2. Tengen/Sanemi- about even after multiple training sessions and improvements.
3. Obanai
4. Kanae
5. Rengoku
6. Mitsuri
7. Muichiro
8. Shinobu

This list includes See through world, red blade, but no mark.
