Calypso POV

I was busy browsing my emails when my phone rang. It was Aeos calling me. But for what? I don't remember any remaining business I have with her ah? But I answered it anyway. "Calypso, Juno needs your help." I felt my heart race. I don't feel good about this matter. "Why? What happened?" I said still keeping my normal voice. "She- uh.. we ano.. um we g-got into a Bar fight. Naka detained ngayon si Juno for physical injury. Uh where here at ***** police station." And there I dropped the call. Agad agad akong nag coat ulit at pumunta kung saan naka detained si Juno ngayon.

I wonder why they didn't asked for Syvenne's help? Why me? 

Buti nalang at hindi ganon ka-traffic, hindi nag tagal ay naka-punta na agad ako sa nasabing police station. "I'm the attorney of Juno Aguirre." Pakilala ko sa on-duty na police. Agad kong inasikaso ang mga papers ni Juno. Buti nalang at pwede mag bail for now dahil hindi pa naman naitataas ang kaso sa fiscal's office. I was the one who bailed Juno out and signed some papers for her bail. "Mag hintay nalang po muna kayo sa schedule kung kailan po mag haharap Si Ms. Aguirre at Mr. Buenventura. 

I just waited for a couple of minutes before I saw Juno walking towards me. She looks so messed up. Tila ay nagulat pa siya na makita ako rito. Is she expecting someone else ba? Sakit naman 'non. I just thanked the police officer named SPO4 Markus Herrera for assisting me sa case ni Aguirre. 

After that I decided to exit the building. Hindi ko na rin pinansin si Juno. I don't know, maybe I'm just super tired since kanina pa ako nag t-trabaho. "C-cali." I heard her. Mukhang natakot ko yata siya. "Get in the car." I coldly said. I'm really tired and I just want to rest. Hindi natapos doon ang pangungulit niya pero as usual I just gave her some tipid answers just for her peace of mind. I can't with this kid. What a pain in my ass.

Pero hindi mo maiitis

Yeah right.

That night, binigyan ko lang siya ng adobong manok na niluto ko, and I didn't know na she would like it. Mostly kasi ng mga nilulutuan ko ng ganon ay hindi raw nila trip because of it's sweetness. Well, I like mine with some sugar and oyster sauce kaya kakaiba ito sa ordinary na adobo. She is the first one who like it actually.

Natulog na ako after I finished my night routine. I offered my bedroom to her but guess what? that kid just declined my offer. Napaka tigas talaga ng ulo! Doon daw siya sa guess room. I even said na I haven't cleaned it yet she still insist on sleeping in the guess room. I was so stressed that night so I let her do whatever the fuck she wants. 

And the next day she just left a note saying that she headed somewhere, like this early? are you fucking kidding me Aguirre? Nevertheless, I ignored it like I usually do. I have a lot of things on my plate, idagdag mo pa ang lesson plan na need ko ipresent sa next class ko. I just rolled my eyes after reading her note.

But in the midst of my work, nag notif ang aking phone. It says..

I don't know what pushed me to tap that notification and it directed me on instagram where I see Juno singing moves like jagger. Dapat ay naiinis ako sakanya dahil hindi 'man lang siya sumabay sakin sa breakfast yet, I found myself smiling while this idiot sings like she's in somewhat arena. 

My god Calypso. I said to myself. Minsan talaga hindi ko na rin kilala ang sarili ko. And it suprises the hell out of me! I do impulsive things when I'm around Juno. I know how rational I am dahil na rin sa napili kong profession but this woman is really something else. I just continued watching her and after that astounding performance nag leave na rin ako sa live because I got a call from my secretary that I am needed in the firm. 

"ARE WE going to accept this?" Chase said as he passed down a folder that contained a complaint from someone. I read it first. Ito pala yung matagal ng pending case sa firm. "Hindi ba ito tinaggap ng PAO?" Chase shook his head. It was a case against a pharmaceutical company, marami raw nag positive sa radition ang ilang mga trabahador dito dahil sa pag e-experimento ng mga gamot na hindi registered sa DFA. "I'm sure if we will accept this one, media involvement will be the first one to occur and we are about to face a huge company." Chase added and yeah, I felt my heart race for a bit. "Give me some time alone to think about this, how about some cases? are they resolved na ba?" I asked for more details. "Yeah, It was handled already attorney." Okay, so ito nalang pala ang iintindihin ko. 

After a few minutes of silence my phone suddenly rang. It was Judge Fortun. One of my close friends in this industry, "Yes Judge? What can I do for you?" Bungad ko dito. "I supposed Chase handled you the case about the Pharmaceutical company incident?" I was shocked na alam na niya ito. As far as I know this case is very classified because of the company involved here. 

"Yes? Why? Bakit mo na mentioned Judge?" I asked. "I was the one who gave it to your assistant earlier." Kaya pala, pero bakit? Why would Judge Fortun pass this case to me? "It was rejected by PAO, hindi raw nila kaya ang makakalaban nila. My nephew is one of the victims in that incident, so I'm asking you a favor as a law enforcement officer and an auntie who seeks justice. Ikaw lang ang tingin ko na makakahawak ng kasong ito." I sighed, It is a big decision to make dahil once I accept this case my life will be at risk. "I know It is risky and dangerous dahil sa laking companya ang involved but those families of the victims needed justice, Calypso. Masyado ng marumi ang Justice system sa bansang ito and I can't afford another neglect from us, lalo na ang daming nawalan ng mahal sa buhay." Pag e-explain nito sakin. I know that it is my duty to bring justice to the people, but I also love my life and friends. 

This is the hardest part of becoming a lawyer. You will encounter cases that will test your sanity and your empathy towards others. "But I am a criminal lawyer Judge, I only defend accused individuals." Judge Fortun sighed. Ramdam mo dito kung gaano siya ka-desperada. "Halos lahat na ng civil lawyer na kilala ko ay tinanggihan ang kasong ito." Oh I know a civil lawyer who's more willing to take this case. "I can recommend someone Judge, she is also working under our firm. She just got back from France." I said and I guess this will help Judge Fortun. "I will send her this case and discuss it with her. I will get back at you once I got her answer." After that Judge Fortun thanked me and dropped the call. I quickly dialed Bianca's number. "Bitch I need to talk to you, I have a case here for you." Agad naman itong pumayag at binigay ko nalang sakanya ang oras kung kailan kami mag kikita mamaya sa 75th Street.
