CHAPTER ONE

Calypso POV

"HURRY UP!" Sigaw ng aking pinsan na si Reanne. We are curretly doing our make up for my cousin's wedding. "Saglit nga, matuto kang mag hintay Reanne." Asik ko rito at kusa naman itong nanahimik. Ugh! buti nalang, peace of mind.

After doing our final retouched, we straightly headed to the exit of the hotel. Mauuna kasi ang mga bridesmaids and of course, me? I am the maid of honor. It took a fifteen minutes drive before we arrived at the Cathedral. Agad-agad rin kaming pumuwesto sa mga nai-talagang upuan sa amin.

I hear Cathy giggles. "Shet! napaka ganda natin today mga insan, isang selfie naman d'yan oh!" She said and held her Iphone to take a selfie. Malalapit talaga kaming mag pipinsan sa isa't isa. Specially me and KC. Speaking of, nasaan na nga ba siya? I was about to dial her number when I felt a presence beside me. "Sorry natagalan, may inayos pa kasi ako sa university." And there she is. finally buo narin kami.

My family is a well-known family of doctors. Cathy is a gynecologist and KC is a psychologist, my other cousins have also their own medical specialty. And me? ako lang naman ang naligaw ang landas.

Instead of taking med course. I took a law career. I am Atty. Calypso Sanchez a criminal defense lawyer. I defended convicted person. Not because of money, it's all about serving justice to them. Hindi naman lahat ng akusado ay may sala. Kaya nga meron tayong trial para sakanila. And ofcourse, I won't let the real culprit to walk free. Andito ako para siguraduhin na mabubulok sila sa kulungan. And because of that philosophy, my family hated me. And I don't give a damn about it.

"Andyan na raw si Nathalie, let's go girls!" Nakita na namin ang kanyang white sedan car. Lahat ay nag si-pwestuhan na sa aisle. Nag simula na lumakad ang iba, at nasundan ito ng mga bata. Ngayon naman ay hindi mapakali ang aking mga pinsan. "Bridesmaid na, Cathy mauuna ka." Gretchen said that made Cathy move.

This wedding is so surreal. The theme is blossom pink because Matthew and Nathalie met in Japan, sabi nga niya 'under the cherry blossom tree'. I don't have any plans in getting married yet, because I am really occupied with my work in my own law firm, isama mo pa ang mga business ko sa Tagaytay at Siargao.

And now, may offer pa sakin si Tita Frejya para maging professor sa Hampshire University School of Law. And until now hindi parin ako makapag decide, if tatanggapin ko ba or hindi. I still have some pending cases to be follow up sa supreme court. "You look beautiful cous." I heard Nath spoke. Hindi ko 'man lang ito namalayan na nasa likod ko na ito. Well, she look really elegant and beautiful. I'm so happy for her.

And now It's my turn to walk to the aisle. I heard a familiar music to me. It was a melodic sound of a piano. I wandered my eyes to search for it and I saw a woman playing the grand piano. I supposed to look at the altar but the pianist really caught my attention.

She's playing 'beautiful in white' I decided to focus at inalis sa isipan ko ang pianist na 'yon. After I successfully walked on the aisle agad akong tumabi sa aking mga pinsan at inintay si Nath na mag lakad sa gitna. But my gaze went back at her.
