Katsuki woke up in his office, still wearing his clothes from the night. He's sure Midoriya carried him back after he passed out from the pain.Stupid, shitty Deku. He thought, dragging his palm across his face. So effin' humiliatin'.
He sighed, standing up and stretching, his whole body excruciatingly sore.
Hina. She was still in danger, still in pain. He clenched his jaw and his fists, flexing his muscles and felt his body flush in heat.
He's going to kill the shitty NVA. He's going to kill them all.
Yeah, he knew it's not exactly heroic. But frankly, he didn't care.
Not when he could feel every twinge of discomfort, could feel her internal delirium and her doubt cloud her mind.
Whatever they told her, whatever misconception they've planted in her mind was making her question everything. Was making her think maybe.
Her and her shitty maybes.
Katsuki was already imagining her huddled in a corner, thinking of all the maybes with her shaking fingers and her teeth biting her lower lip.
He looked outside the window and saw the sun was dipping towards the horizon, the sky still blue but darker and getting closer to its orange hues.
He'd slept all the way to the afternoon. That's just damn great.
His eyes widened.
He's been asleep for half a day.
He stomped to the doors, slamming through them and to wherever he could find more heroes. With his panic, he could only see through a tunnel vision of finding familiar faces, of any familiarity at all.
He found himself in front of the conference hall where he'd laid out all of what he knew about the NVA a day ago. The meeting in which everyone confirmed Aoi was the enemy.
With a clenched jaw and tense shoulders, he shoved the doors open and scoffed at the sight he saw.
It was a mess inside.
Papers were flying, and the bustle of conversations made it hard to focus on any one person. Heroes were huddled at the white board and on the table, maps and blueprints laid open while Momo and Midoriya started laying out details. There was a table on the side where three people sat with their laptops, vigorously clacking on keys.
A hand gripped his shoulder, the feeling familiar and calming. He turned and was met with red eyes and red spiky hair.
"How are you feeling?" Eijiro asked.
Katsuki sighed, swallowing the tightness in his throat.
"Peachy."
Eijiro nodded in understanding, not pressing the issue any further. He knew not to push Katsuki. Not with the dark circles under his eyes and the strain in his brows.
"What's all this?" Katsuki asked, gesturing to the crowd who still hadn't noticed his presence.
"We found out a clue. Aoi got his loan to open his gym from Nakamura Enterprises."
Rage grew in Katsuki's chest. Just who the hell is pulling the strings from Nakamura Enterprises?
"Oi!" He called out to the room, demanding attention.
Everyone went silent within seconds, all their attention on the hero who was radiating power like never before.
"I want everything on Nakamura Enterprises. Everything. Even things we already went over and deemed irrelevant." He heaved a hot angry breath, his brows furrowing even more. "Someone from the NVA is pullin' strings through the company and I want'a know who."
