After five years of their separation, despair is the only company Katsuki welcomes, even though he's finally accomplished his dream of becoming the number 1 hero in Japan. In another universe, Hina has become a well renowned author, anonymously published, while balancing life as a single mother, seeing glimpses of Katsuki in her daily life. She is growing from the loss but still misses him dearly.
Neither want to lose hope that they'll never see the other in their lifetimes. However they've accepted it as their reality. That is until the Caper has made their magnificent return.

Chapter 1 | Parallels
Universe 551, December 15th
Loss hollows the soul in a way that can never be repaired.
While it's said that time fills the hollowness, that could never be far from the truth. Time only extends the memories around the gaping hole, making it feel smaller than it really is. In reality, the shape, the contours, the very depth of it, remains exactly the same.
Katsuki has an intimate understanding of this phenomenon.
He perceives his loss in every moment of his life. Like an amputated limb, he swears he can feel her presence, feel the deep valley of her emotions, feel the warmth of her body against his. Sometimes, he hears her in his kitchen, humming at the food he cooked, or in his bed, whispering love under a red blanket.
And every time a sensation comes, a fleeting moment, he closes his eyes, grasping onto it like a lifeline, pulling on it desperately to try and forge her in memory.
And every time, when he opens his eyes, he's faced with the cruel reality that she isn't here. That she can never come back.
Today, he sees her in the crowd, her ocean blue eyes, a beacon for his affections, shimmering in the dark while the lights shine on him. He stares at the vision, honing in, trying his best to not crack while Japan celebrates him.
He's finally become the number one hero.
He drowns in the cheers of his name, swallows the dryness in his throat, because the vision is about to slip away. Her beautiful abyss eyes are about to disappear.
A mic is shoved in his face, and everyone hushes into a pin drop silence. They are waiting for him to make his victory speech. They are waiting for him to claim his true victory after years of competing against his best friend.
Izuku stands next to him, now standing at number two, with teary big pastured eyes and a beaming smile that remind Katsuki of their childhood. Before shit hits the fan that is.
Katsuki clears his throat, his eyes scanning the crowd to find anything similar to that brilliant blue he only sees clearly in his dreams.
"I've only started my ascent as the number one hero. There is much more coming from the Explosion Hero: Dynamight. Just you wait and see."
