-Chapter 14~ Welcome Back Dinners -

Tobias' Pov

I wake up to my alarm clock going off at 8:00.The regular time I have to get up for work.

Tris isn't in the bed besides me where she's suppose to be, but I can hear her talking to someone from the other room.

I pull myself out of bed and put a shirt and some sweatpants on, not yet getting dressed for work since I haven't taken a shower yet.

I walk into the kitchen and see Tris and Lynn sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast.

Lynn? When did Lynn get back?

Tris is already dressed for work, meaning she must have already managed to take a shower without waking me up.

He hair is tied back in a tight pony-tail and she has some makeup on.

Lynn is also wearing her dauntless clothes. Her hair, as well as Tris', is still slightly wet meaning she obviously took a shower already, too.

"Hi?" I say to Lynn as more of a question then a greeting.

"Lynn is going to be staying here today while the two of us are at work," Tris starts. "She's going to explain everything to the gang later tonight, but until then she'd appreciate your discretion. She doesn't want anyone finding out she's back yet except for the two of us."

"Well, I'm glad you're back." I say, trying to be friendly.

"Thanks, and I appreciate you keeping this a secret for a little while and letting me stay here today." she replies.

I walk over and grab a muffin, joining the two girls at the table.

"No problem," I respond. "When did you get here?"

"About three this morning. Tris was kind enough to let me stay in the guest room and tidy myself up. I had been staying in Factionless for a while, as I'm sure you knew, and I wasn't really in the best state hygienically." she answers.

"Well, I'm glad you're doing better now and hopefully you're back food good." I say, instantly regretting my statement once Lynn puts her head down shamefully and Tris shoots me a glare.

"Sorry if I said something I shouldn't have." I mutter.

"It's fine, I'm the one who did something stupid, not you." Lynn answers, now looking sadder than she did before.

I'm not sure what this stupid thing she did was, but I don't think now is the right time to ask. I'm sure she'll explain later.

We finish breakfast in a slightly uncomfortable silence. I try to eat as quickly as I can.

Once I'm done eating I excuse myself from the table, hop into the shower, and get ready for work.

After I finished getting dressed I head back into the living room where Tris and Lynn are watching some sort of comedy show on the television.

"Okay, Lynn," Tris says, standing up from the couch once she sees me entering the room. "Four and I have to head to work now, but feel free to stay here. I'm assuming you're not going to want to leave the apartment, but just incase, here's a house key." she says, while handing Lynn a spare key.

"We have plenty of food in the kitchen, so you shouldn't need to go into the cafeteria or anything," I continue. "If anybody knocks on the door, which they shouldn't, just stay inside to avoid work getting out. We promise we won't share that you're here until you're ready for us to."
