A/N: This story will end at Chapter 40. After that there will be a epilogue and a possible sequel???? I'll either be doing a sequel or starting a new book (also divergent fanfic).
- Chapter 29~Lazy Days -
(Brief continuation from the end of the last chapter)
Tobias' Pov
"So I talked to Max and told him we're certain that Lauren is the cause of all of this," I say to Tris, walking into the kitchen. " He said that since he didn't see anything, he wouldn't punish her. Also since this faction is Dauntless and not Abnehation or something, the don't disapprove of bad behavior. They don't exactly approve of setting people's houses on fire, but we're suppose to be brave about this situation and not act like babies or something. "
I look up and see that Tris wasn't really listening to what I was saying. She's leaning up against the counter and is looking at a piece of paper, the inscribed words holding her focus.
Her face displays a mix of anger and worriment as her eyes scan over the paper numerous times.
"Tris, what is that?" I ask her, gesturing towards the paper in her hands.
Tris dosen't answer my question and instead continues to stare at the paper intensely.
"What's wrong?" I ask again, hoping she'll answer.
Tris continues to reread the paper until her facial expression turns madder than before.
"That bitch!" She screams, throwing the paper across the room.
I watch as the paper slowly falls onto the cold, tile floor. I walk over and pick up the paper, reading the context.
Your house may have gone up in flames, but i'm not done with this little game.
"Where did you find this?" I ask her after reading the context.
"It was on the kitchen counter when I walked in. Lauren must have left it here before ruining our house," She says, her face still red with anger. "I never even did anything to her, she needs to stop. This is getting out of hands! I get that she may want to hurt me or something, but setting our house on fire? What the fuck is wrong with her?"
"She's a messed up human being who doesn't know enough is enough."
"I just feel like she's going to do something else that's even crazier!" Tris says, leaning up against the counter and putting her hand on her forehead.
"I won't let that happen. If we think she's attempting anything else then we can turn her into Max." I say, showing Tris that I'm not going to let Lauren destroy anything else.
"How will that help," She asks. "We've already told him who did this and he said he needed proof."
"Then we'll find proof for him. We'll make him believe Lauren is guilty somehow."
Tris looks at me, trying to decide if she believes me or not.
"Alright."
-Time Lapse: Later that Night-
Tris' Pov
"Just go," I tell Tobias reassuringly. "I'll be fine."
He glances up towards me, an unsure look on his face.
"I don't feel like I should." He says, still staring at me with worriment on his face.
"I'll be fine! Chris and Mar are coming over anyway to help me get rid of the things that got destroyed in the fire anyway."
