On Monday when you got back to school, everything seemed okay. You had decided to walk to school despite all of Sting's protests. He really wanted to drive you, and show off to everyone that the two of you were dating now, but you wanted to keep it private for a while.
When you walked into the school, no one was looking at you which you liked. But as more and more students started showing up, people seemed to be whispering. You felt very paranoid, but didn't think much of it, until Lucy rushed up to you. "Y/n!" Her tone sounded worried, and that's when you're anxiety hit you.
"What is it?" You asked her, your stomach turning.
"Have you heard what people are saying? People are calling you a home wrecker!"
"What!?"
"I heard people saying that you got with Sting over the weekend. That the two of you slept together and Yukino found out and she broke up with him!"
"That is not what happened at all!" You buried your face in your hands, and Lucy hugged your shoulders. Soon enough, almost as if on cue, Sting approached the two of you.
"Good morning, Y/n." He smiled brightly, reaching out for your hand but you shook your head.
"Sting, we have a huge issue!"
"Yeah, we do, you won't hold my hand." He pouted.
"Sting I'm serious! People are calling me a home wrecker!" You started breathing a bit heavily, and Sting just shook his head.
"I thought I told you not to worry what people said."
"You did, but they're calling me. A. Home. Wrecker." You said it slowly, so that he would understand. "And that Yukino was the one that broke up with you."
"Huuuh?" He looked confused, and then rolled his eyes. There was no way in hell she would break up with me."
"Well, tell everyone that! Because right now, they think that I slept with you and caused the break up! Yukino is popular, this will destroy me, Sting."
"Who do you think made her popular, hun?" He chuckled a bit, and patted your head. "Y/n, I promise you tomorrow you'll be the queen of the school."
"I don't want that, either." You sighed.
"Y/n, everything will be fine." He smiled softly, taking your hand and kissing the top of it gently. This caught the attention of many students, who would glare at you. While at the same time, there were other students now questioning the truthfulness of the story.
The full story that Yukino was feeding to everyone was that Sting had cheated on her with you. When she found out, she went to his house to break up with him and he begged her not to, but she stood her ground, turning his back on him.
The true story was almost the complete opposite of that. Yukino didn't know if he had cheated or not, but she wanted someone to blame other than herself for the fall of the relationship. She could never be in the wrong. And blaming you and Sting was much easier than her admitting to herself that she was a controlling bitch.
Sting turned away from you and approached a random person in the hallway. Sting had asked what he had heard about the situation and the guy explained in full detail about what he had heard, and who he heard it from. Sting nodded, and then told him the real story, which this guy believed. And to top it all off, Sting made sure to tell him how controlling she was. After their conversation, Sting walked back to you with a smile. "That should take care of it."
"What did you do?" You asked suspiciously.
"Just told him the real story. Things travel fast around this school, and I'm one of the most popular guys here." He boasted with a prideful smile. "If things aren't solved by the end of lunch, it will be most definitely solved by tomorrow."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive." He cupped your face in his hand, and caressed your cheek with his thumb, then looked over to Lucy. "And I trust that you will also spread the truth?"
"Sure, I will." She nodded. "But I have to go, I'll see you later, Y/n." She waved off and you waved back, and once she was gone you exhaled.
"What is it, love?" Sting pushed hair out of your face to see a frown.
"It's just all so stressful." You sighed.
"Yukino just wants someone to blame." He assured you. "This is not your fault at all, by any means."
"Okay." You shown a smile a bit, and he smiled right back.
"You're adorable, you know that?" He chuckle a bit, a took a step closer. You blushed, and adverted your eyes away from him. He then grabbed your chin in between his two fingers, and made you look up at him. "You drive me crazy, do you know that?"
That was overheard by a girl, who was a friend of Yukino, or rather, took her side in the whole thing. The both of you heard her scoff loudly, and then saw her roll her eyes. "Sting, it's quite obvious that you downgraded. It's sad, really." She said, but her mistake was that she stuck around, waiting for a response from one of you.
"And who are you?" Sting asked, which made the girl turn pale.
"I- uh.."
"Doesn't matter. I upgraded, just to inform you. I broke up with Yukino."
"Y-You did?" She was obviously flustered at this point. That simple question stripped her of her confidence. "Well, that's not-"
"That's not what your heard from Yukino? Well, to let you know, Yukino won't take the blame for something that most definitely is her fault. Yukino is the reason I broke the relationship off, not Y/n."
"Well, you have to admit, it does seem a bit suspicious." She crossed her arms.
"And so what if it does? It doesn't concern you any. You're not involved." Sting lifted his head up, and giving the girl a look that would make her hurry and walk away.
"Sting, that was-" You we're interrupted by him.
"Amazing? Yeah, I know."
"No, I was going to say a bit too much."
"You want things to change, right? This is the beginning of it." He told you, smiling softly so that he could assure you that everything would be okay.
"I don't know, Sting. I don't want to deal with all the drama." You sighed, looking down. Once again, he lifted your head up.
"And you won't, I'll deal with everything, okay? No need to worry." With that, he tried to lean in for a kiss, but you turned your face away from him. He stopped and pulled away, looking at you a bit confused. "What was that?"
"I'm not big on PDA, I'm sorry. What we do shouldn't be anyones business, you know? I like to keep things private." You thought Sting would get upset by this, but he actually smiled instead.
"No no, I totally get it! I agree! Yukino wanted everyone to know our business, and I hated it."
"Oh, well, I'm glad we're in the same page then." Yiu smiled. He nodded and took your hand in his.
"I'll walk you to class, okay?"
"Oh, well, I usually wait for Gray."
"He can go a day without walking with you."
