TW: Wording?? Words people may find sensitive are in this chapter. Just the mention of the word. (R*pe)
______________________________Hana had gone home on Sunday, and left you with half the day to yourself. You decided to use this time to catch up on some sleep while there were no distractions. Should you have been setting up to prepare for your week of online work? Probably. But as long as you got all the work done within the week it would have been fine.
They weren't going to set up video calls for one student just for one week, so your teachers were ordered to post everything online for you. And if you just get everything done before the end of the day, it would be okay. You were excited for all the free time.
Eventually during your nap, your mother had knocked on the door, and walked in. You heard her knock and you woke up, rubbing your eyes. "Huh?" You asked confused.
"Hey honey, I have to leave very soon."
"What?" You sat up in bed and stared at her blank faced. "Why?"
"Boss man is sending me on a business trip out of town for the week." She sighed. "I won't be back until Friday. And I have to leave tonight."
"Okay, alright." You nodded.
"You'll be okay here by yourself? I can arrange for someone to stay her with you, or for you to stay with someone."
"No, I'll be okay."
"Alright. Well, I have to leave. Remember to keep the door locked." She said before waving, and closing the door. You yawned and went back to bed. You were used to your mom going on trips. This wasn't new to you.
**
It was now Monday, and you decided to sleep in. You had all day to do your work, so you weren't in a particular hurry. When you did get up though, you decided to walk down stairs to make some breakfast.
From a young age, your mother had instilled many different beliefs and tips to help you survive as a woman later in life. And on weekends when she wasn't completely drowned in work and you both ate breakfast together, she would have you say or repeat these affirmations and tips she had taught you. Your mother was a smart woman, you would always listen to her no matter what.
So while you were making breakfast, you decided to say these tips and affirmations to remind yourself. You took out a frying pan, and placed it in the stove, and turned it on. While it was heating up, you took out the carton of eggs from the fridge and placed them on the counter. Then from the cupboard, you pulled out a small bowl and reach for a fork from the drawer.
"Make sure you have money set aside even if you're married. You never know when you need to leave or get out of a situation." You said to yourself, cracking eggs into the bowl.
"Never scream rape, yell fire. Fire always catches peoples attention." You began to scramble the eggs with the fork.
"Never depend on a man. You never know what they can't do." You put the fork in the sink and pulled out milk from the fridge, and measured out a cap full to put in the egg mixture.
"Be independent." You out the milk away and carried the bowl to the stove, pouring it into the pan. "A true man will not be intimidated by it."
You reached over for a spatula, and started to cook the eggs. "Don't take criticism from someone you wouldn't take advice from." After saying this, you stopped, your mind went blank. Yukino was doing nothing but criticizing you. So the question would be, would you ever take advice from her?
No, you wouldn't. From what you've heard she was nothing but toxic. And from what you've seen she was nothing but mere gum on the bottom of your shoe. Yes that may seem harsh, but she deserves to be called much worse after all of this. After causing you such distress. Calling you names. Having people turn against you. How could you have forgotten a simple affirmation that your mother taught you?
You almost burned the eggs getting lost in thought. You quickly pulled down a small plate and poured the scrambled eggs onto it, and then seasoned them quickly. You turned off the stove and placed the frying pan in the sink, and then took out a clean fork and started eating at the kitchen island.
Your mother would have been disappointed if she had found out what Yukino was doing to you and you didn't try to fight back. Or at least have it appear that she wasn't getting under your skin. But it's never too late to change. You have the power now. The school is trying to fix the situation, and you have her ex boyfriend, the love of your life. You have her old friends, you have the power here! So why the hell were you feeling so down and lousy?
After eating and you washed the dishes, you decided to take a shower. You were feeling a bit better about the situation now, and felt confident when you would return to school. Everything would go well.
You went upstairs and down the hallway to where the bathroom was. It was pretty good sized, there was a walk in shower, a bathtub, and toilet obviously, and a huge counter with two sinks. You closed the door and turned on a playlist on your phone as you started to undress. From there, you turned the shower on, making sure it was the right temperature. Once it was, you stepped right in, immediately feeling relaxed as the warm water hit your body.
It was something about taking a shower that just completely relaxed you. Whether it was the warmth of the water or being alone, you weren't sure, but you always looked forward to a shower. You would stay in there for about an hour before you turned off the water and stepped out, wrapping a towel around you. You looked at the mirror that was now completely steamed over, and then found a bit hard to breathe because of all the steam.
You opened the door to the bathroom and closed it behind you, wanting to go to your room. But before you could even have a second thought. You saw someone standing by your bedroom door. Sting.
You both stared at each other wide eyed for a moment, and then you rushed back into the bathroom. "What the hell!" You yelled at him through the door.
"I-I didn't know! I'm sorry!" You could hear him very clearly, and assumed he was right outside the door.
"How'd you even get in!?"
"You showed me where you keep the spare key!"
"Oh... that's right." You sighed. "Well, look away so I can get dressed in my room!"
