"Where is she? Is she still asleep?" Jack asked Emma as he walked down the busy corridor, escorted to the dining room for breakfast by his two guards.

The castle went into overdrive as all staff tried to prepare for the short-notice royal wedding with military precision and exacting haste.

Servants ran past the king with wedding decorations busting from their arms.

The kitchen staff raced from the courtyard to the kitchen ladened with ingredients for the big wedding feast and Jack's advisors worked away in their offices drafting contracts and treatises to legalise the upcoming event.

The usually quiet corridor struggled to accommodate the heavy footfall that morning as a young chef became distracted by the young lady's presence and didn't see the side table in front of him quick enough.

He slammed into the sturdy piece of furniture, banging his leg, making the bag of flour fall to the floor with a thud.

A gust of white fog erupted from the floor, coating both himself and the furious girl in the white powder.

"Look what you have done!" Emma cried as she quickly dusted off her favourite brown velvet and gold dress.

"I'm so sorry, your majesty. I will get something to clean it up now" the embarrassed boy profusely apologised to the amused king and rushed away with his head down refusing to look at the furious girl.

The king stood in front of Emma and handed her napkin from his pocket,

"Here, take this and we'll find you some more in the dining room to clean yourself with. Maybe we'll also find my daughter in there?" Jack suggested with a smile and gestured her forward.

Conversations and laughter echoed from the other side of the large, mahogany double doors as the guards opened both in unison, providing the king with his grand entrance.

Meat and dairy products aligned the oversized, long wooden table as maids rushed to provide more bread and drinks to the demanding guest.

"Ahhh! King Jack, there you are! Your wife has been keeping me entertained with stories of your past" King William of Vanus bellowed with laughter.

Lili regarded her husband with annoyance,

"My Lili is always entertaining my guests" Jack replied weakly, knowing that his wife hated royal meetings and was not fond of the wedding arrangement.

"Have you seen Jasmine this morning?" Jack asked his exasperated wife.

The queen solemnly shook her head and gave her husband a telling glance as he shifted around on the spot knowing that the day would not be as easy as he hoped.

"Ahhh! Here she is!" The roaring visitor announced and stood up to greet the dejected princess.

Jasmine walked in and fixed her green and gold dress as she bowed to the three parties in the room without emotion.
