"I'm gonna go outside and make a call" Alex says
I nod
As soon as I crossed the doorway, Cara was right behind me, her breath tracing my scent. She was so near, I could discern the rhythm of her breathing.
"Why are you so close" I mumble
"Oh! I'm sorry I just never got so close and personal with a legend before" she says in excitement
"You're cute" I scoff
We get to my desk and sit there to chat for a while
"Congrats on having the two whores on a leash" I smile
"I try" she smiles "but Jennifer is a clingy one it's hard to get her to walk straight"
"Yea she's alright" I laugh
"So- if you don't mind my asking, why did you really leave? I know that story was true but it felt like you were leaving a big part out" Cara sincerely asks
I let out a big sigh before speaking "there were lots of- things... that happened to me while I was away, it's hard to tell your family that you got bruised beaten and tortured just to keep them alive day after day"
"So this whole thing wasn't just so you could get back at JJ?"
"I mean.. I needed a break from everyone so I planned on running anyways, I didn't know for how long or where to but I just remember thinking that I was gonna get married the next day to a person who cheated on me with my ex"
"And you weren't gonna talk to her about it?"
"At that point I was so heartbroken that I was past talking and more angry than sad really"
"I understand that but she still loves you..."
I nod
"There's not a day that goes by that she doesn't regret cheating or tells me how much she regrets cheating, our first time almost having sex she cried and apologized multiple times because that's her biggest regret"
"Are you being honest with me right now?" I ask on the brink of tears
Cara nods
"I'm more into Emily anyways" she laughs
"Yea, just don't have children with her"
She stops laughing "what do you mean"
"Those triplets that you met are hers"
"But how?"
"Bone marrow" I whisper
She gives me a shocked face
"Yea, but she left me at the hospital to raise three babies alone while she went to London because she couldn't handle me and that's when Jayje and I officially started dating"
"Wow that's some tea" Cara laughs
"But we're doing better and I'm sure my children would love you" I smile
