I know the adoption process is very long and tedious but for the sake of the story it's gonna be just signing papers.
Sydney's POV
I found Angela still in my office, when I walked in she gave me a worried look as if she might throw up if I say the wrong thing. I shut the door and take a deep breath.
"We're adopting!" I say excitedly
She lets out a squeal of joy and hugs me I assume without thinking
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean-"
"Angela It's okay" I smile
"And actually we want to adopt Jessie, I want Jayje to adopt Laura and we want to foster Evelyn" I say
"Foster?" She gives me a confused look
"Between you and me... I know who her mom is and I'm sure when she comes back she'd love to have her kid"
"O-okay" Angela says
She pulls the papers out of her briefcase
"You sign here and your spouse signs here, you two are married right?"
"I-It's pending, we're engaged I hope that won't be a problem, we're waiting for me but I'm gonna sign them when we get back home"
"Oh no it's not a problem at least you two are engaged that's good enough"
"Okay uh, I'm gonna take these to my fiancé and we will look over them"
She nods
"Can you come with me? My leg is actually killing me right now I don't wanna walk back here"
"Of course, do you need a wheelchair or something?"
"No I-I think I can walk"
We head out to Jayjes room but my leg was killing me so much I had to limp.
"You sure you're okay you look like you're-"
"No I'm- AHH!" I scream
It feels like my skin is splitting apart and blood starts seeping through my jeans while I hold my leg in agony.
"Oh my gosh Mrs. Rollins- Help! Can we get help over here!"
"Angela" I say
"Yeah?"
"If you call me Mrs. Rollins again I will stick a needle in your eye and I'm not just saying that because I'm in pain"
"Yes ma'am I'm sorry Sydney" she says
A nurse rushes over to he with a wheelchair.
"No it's okay I can wa-"
"No you can't, get in the wheelchair Rollins, now!" Bailey comes out of nowhere
"Who called Bailey?" I yell
Everyone looks around at each other nervously
"I'm gonna kick ass when I get back" I say sitting in the wheelchair
"Mhm your ass is gonna be first! let me check this out" Bailey says
She walks over to me and notices that I'm wearing jeans. She hates when I wear jeans in the hospital especially over an injury
"And why are you wearing jeans Rollins"
"I uhh, I don't have an answer for that" I smile through the pain
She grabs scissors and cuts my pant leg open
"Hey! These were expensive!"
"You'll live!... yep you burst open your stitches and it's deeper and longer than the first time"
