I climbed into Odin's car, closed the door, and turned to him. "So, what are we doing?"

"Would you like to have a picnic?"

"A picnic?"

"Yeah, you know, you take food outside and eat on the ground."

I giggled. "A picnic sounds like fun."

"Good because that's what I had planned for us today."

I laughed.

Odin started the car and backed out of Rachel's driveway. We stopped to grab food and drinks, then headed to a park. Odin grabbed the food while I held the drinks. We walked to a picnic table and sat down.

Odin pulled out styrofoam containers, gave me one, and took one himself. He handed me a pop. "I thought sandwiches and potato chips would work."

I opened the container. "I prefer a sandwich and potato chips over fancy food."

Odin smiled.

We dug into our food. I had to admit that the Turkey sandwich was delicious.

"So, you're in high school," Odin said.

"Are you okay with me being in high school?"

"It doesn't bother me." Odin shrugged.

"I'm almost done with my junior year. Then I start my senior year this fall."

"Do you have any plans after graduation?"

"I want to work with kids. What about you?"

"I'm a licensed contractor and work for my dad."

"Doing what?" I took a bite out of my sandwich.

"Construction."

"Do you enjoy it?"

"Yeah, I like building things with my hands."

"How old are you?"

"I just turned twenty-three in April."

"I turn eighteen in October."

"Wouldn't you have graduated this year?"

"My dad travels for business, so I switched schools a lot. Before I started my freshman year, we moved to Oakridge."

"You moved her after I graduated high school."

I nodded.

"But you would know my brother, Liam."

"I've heard of your brother but didn't know him."

"Good because my brother is an idiot who can't get his shit together."

I giggled.

"He dated this girl and blew it."

"What did your brother do?"

"He refused to put a label on their relationship."

"Why?"

"Liam thought Reese would choose Rafe over him."

"Who's Rafe?"

"Raphael Harper is my younger cousin. His dad and my dad own a construction business."

"So, who's Reese?"

"Reese is my brother's ex-girlfriend now. She has some weird infatuation with Rafe."

I squinted my eyes and stared at Odin with my mouth open.
