Sofie
After my last text message from Odin, I hadn't heard from him. I even went to the youth group, but he didn't show. I can't say it doesn't sting a bit.
I quit visiting the youth group, stayed home, and binged watched movies. What else would I do? Mope around and pine over a guy who doesn't bother to contact me? Yeah, okay.
I stood in the kitchen, dug out heaping scoops of ice cream, and plopped them into a bowl. My phone pinged with a message. I grabbed a paper towel and wiped my hands before checking it.
Hey. Sorry I have contacted you. Things have been busy at the site. - Thor's dad
I can't talk right now because I'm busy.
Doing what?
Oh, that's none of your concern.
Sofie?
Leave a message after the beep. Beep!
Sofie 🤨
Sofie's not here right now, man. I chuckled as Cheech and Chong's voices rang through my head.
I'm coming over.
You can't.
Why not?
I'm not decent. I glanced at my tank top and pajama shorts.
Say what?
I'm nakedddd. Did you need me to spell it out for you? Okay, I will. N. A. K. E. D.
Odin didn't respond. I shrugged, scooped out my ice cream with my spoon, and shoved it into my mouth. I heard pounding on my front door. Who the heck is visiting me besides my friends?
I walked to the front door, shoveling ice cream into my mouth, and answered it to find Odin looked quite perturbed. I lowered my spoon and swallowed my ice cream. "Yes? Can I help you?"
Odin stepped inside, closed the door behind him, and stood before me with his arms crossed across his chest.
"You don't seem happy." I shoved ice cream into my mouth.
"I haven't talked to you in the past few weeks, and your answer is you don't seem happy."
"Well, you don't." I shrugged and shoved more ice cream into my mouth.
Odin dropped his arms and crept toward me. I turned, strode toward the couch, and plopped down. If Odin would lose his shit, I wanted to get comfy with my frozen treat.
"What are you doing?"
"Getting comfy." I shrugged.
Odin turned his head slightly. "Why?"
"I figured you'll lose your shit. Why not enjoy the show?"
Odin pinched the bridge of his nose and took deep breaths before lowering his hand. "I'm not going to lose my shit."
"Are you sure? The vein in your forehead says otherwise." I pointed at his head with my spoon.
Odin shook his head, sat beside me, and took my bowl from me.
"Hey!"
Then he took my spoon. "Didn't your parents teach you to share?"
"My parents are assholes. They're the last people who understand the concept of sharing."
"Sharing is caring." Odin smirked and shoved ice cream into his mouth.
I tried to take my bowl back, but he held it out of my reach. Then I climbed him like Mount Everest. Odin kept moving the bowl from my grasp. Amid our tussle, I slipped as Odin wrapped his arm around my waist and hauled me to him.
