Sofie
Odin forced me to attend school even though I begged him to let me stay home. He said I couldn't run away or hide from my problems. Why not? I thought it was a reasonable idea.
I held my breath and entered the school as people stopped and looked at me. My brows furrowed as a classmate approached me.
"I'm sorry to hear about your dad," Candice mentioned.
Harry approached me. "For what it's worth, no one blames you for what your dad did."
I didn't know what to say.
More and more classmates approached me and talked to me. I finally released the breath I was holding. Melody and Marla walked toward me and stopped.
"I'm a little confused," I mentioned.
"About what?" Marla asked me.
"I thought people would run me out of school because of my dad," I said.
"Sofie, everyone knows how your dad treats you. They don't blame you for what he did because you had nothing to do with it," Melody said.
"That's a relief." I sighed.
"Plus, you wouldn't hesitate to help others. It's who you are," Marla said.
I nodded as we headed to class.

OdinAfter dragging Sofie to the school entrance and pushing her inside, I left to meet Dad and Elias. I hope they have good news.
I entered the office building and made my way to Elias's office. I found both waiting for me. "Any word on when we can resume building?"
"Grayson handed the prosecuting attorney the information. We're waiting for the Feds to clear us before resuming work," Dad said.
"But that's not why we called you here," Elias said.
I looked at Elias and crossed my arms across my chest.
"Once we get the all-clear, we're expanding the business. Your dad and I talked and want you and Val to run it as partners."
My brows lifted in surprise.
"Next year, Val will graduate and have his contractor's license. Come summer. I'm hoping we're back in business. What do you think?"
"Yeah, it sounds like an amazing idea."
"Good because our business keeps growing. We have people waiting to hire us."
"We also have family that hired us to renovate houses for their kids," Dad added.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yep. How would you like to renovate Liam's house while we're waiting? You would still earn a paycheck since we have liability insurance we're using."
My jaw dropped open in shock.
"I talked to Jayden about Demarco helping us. He was kind of bummed when we ceased production. Jayden said he's been moping around the house," Elias said.
"That would work. Demarco is a hard worker. He shows up on time and does anything that you ask him. What about Jordin?"
"I already spoke to Oliver. Oliver wants us to renovate a house for Jordin and Casper as a gift."
"Does Jordin or Casper know?"
"No. Oliver wants the houses to be a surprise for them."
"I think it's a great idea. I'm sure Jordin wouldn't mind having a place of his own."
