I exit the school building, not before getting a few catcalls and whistles from douches. I usually flip them off. It's the most effective.I walk outside the building searching for the head of red hair I have grown to love. When I spot her, I notice her with Dustin around the side of the building. I walk closer, catching whatever Dustin is saying. Max catches my eye, raising an eyebrow before a sarcastic smile makes its way onto her face. "If I play, do I get one of those cool T-shirts?" She asks. Poor Dustin takes her sarcasm for interest. "Uh...Yes!" He says. "Really?" She says, still smiling widely and tilting her head. "Everyone gets a T-shirt. We make em' ourselves, and if you..." He trails as he notices her unusually wide smile. "You're being sarcastic." He says. "You being sarcastic?" He asks her. She shrugs, smiling lightly before placing her skateboard down and skating towards where I'm standing. "She was being sarcastic." He mutters.
Max stops beside me, catching her board and turning to me. "You didn't have to do Dustin like that." I say. "Sorry, old habits die hard." She mutters. She eyes my shirt, as if noticing it for the first time. "It is a cool shirt though." She mumbles. "Well, even if you're not considering it now, maybe next year." I say, turning as we begin walking back into the building together. "What's so special about next year?" She asks, confused. "Next year..." I start before turning around to face her, walking backwards and opening my arms in a dramatic way. "Hellfire will have a new leader." I say, grinning. Max's mouth falls open before she chuckles. "You? Really?" She asks. "What? Don't think I can do it?" I ask, faking offence. "No, no, no. I didn't- I didn't say that. It's just....you don't have the same flare Eddie Munson does." She says. Taking it as a challenge, I step onto a bench in the area. We are currently in a fairly common spot for lunch, for the people who bring their own food. It's an outside hangout with trees and stuff.
She watches me with wide eyes as I open my arms again, watching as people look at me. A few catcalls again, causing Max's eyes to darken. I'm guessing annoyance, hatred or...jealousy. I turn to the sound, noticing Jason and his lackeys exiting the building. Probably on their way across campus to the gym. His lackeys were the ones catcalling. I flip the bird at them, causing Jason to walk over. "Do you and the freak Munson have to poison every hangout place?" He asks, stopping a little bit away from me. "Who said we were the ones poisoning the place? Last I heard, this area was fine until you showed up." I say, stepping down and facing the boy, looking him in the eye. "No one wants you here, Y/N." he says, snarling at me. "Oh yea? The catcalls from your buddies over here say otherwise." I mutter, stepping closer, raising an eyebrow. "Screw off." He mutters, pushing me lightly. I stumble back a bit before glaring at him. "Yo, dude, don't start this again. Remember last time?" One of his buddies says. I smirk, enjoying the fear I have on them.
Jason sighs, glaring at me before poking a finger at my chest. "This isn't over, Y/L/N." He says. I point my middle finger at his face, obstructing his view before stepping backwards slowly. "Oh, I know. It's over when I say it is." I reply, flashing a smile before turning back to Max who's smiling. "I'd be careful with that one." Jason shouts to Max from where he's stood. "I can decide on my own friends, thanks." She shouts back, offering a sweet but sarcastic smile. Jason walks away, earning a few snickers at his failed attempt to help someone. "You sure you don't want to join Hellfire? You have the 'flare'." I mimic her words. "Oh shut up." She says, walking away. "I'll think about it." She mutters as we enter the building.
Inside, Max sighs, turning to me. "Hey, I gotta go get my things. The Counselor insists I take some lunchtime English tutorings so..." She trails. I nod, smiling at her before we part ways.

I walk into the room where we do campaigns and look around. Mike and Dustin aren't here. "Y/N!" Eddie exclaims, standing from his chair. "Oh, I mean, Elevar the Mage." He says, bowing. I wanted to honour El in our party, but I decided to mask her name over with a fake name. I grin, sitting down on my usual chair next to him at the table. "Let's see what sheepie the boys bring in." Eddie mutters before the door squeaks open, revealing the two boys and a oh so familiar figure.
