Chapter 5
Messy situations
The bell rang, it was finally time to go home. Today had been promising, except for the little incident with that rude girl.
I picked up my bag and then threw it over my shoulder and walked out of the classroom.
My thoughts were running wild, i couldn't take my mind of either Amy or Jess. What kind of human being would ever like me back though? i was just a typical nerd. I frowned at the floor as i was walking out the gates and towards the bus stop, I just want to jump onto my bed and read.
"Hey Kate? Wait up!" I turned around as i got to the gates and then saw Amy approaching me, i smiled and stopped as she finally reached me. "Hey, you on your way home now?" She asked. Amy tilted her head to the left and smiled, waiting for my answer.
"Yeah, did you need something?" I asked curiously. I looked towards the bus and frowned, it was at the bus stop now and it was about to go. I turned my head back to Amy and smiled as i saw her smiling. Her smile was so cute. I've never really had a crush on anyone before.
Amy came closer to me as i was leaning against the gate. I wonder what she's thinking.
"Well, me and my friends are having a sleepover tonight. Since you're new, we were wondering if you would like to come. It's not until late so you can go home for a while until we go, but anyway it's going to be awesome. You can get to know me and my friends better too, plus you seem like a pretty cool girl. So how about it? I could pick you up later, say about 8?" She smiled warmly at me and then started playing with her shirt, i think she was blushing but i couldn't tell. Wow, now I'm flattered, she don't even know me and she wants me to go out with her.
"Sure!" Amy smiled widely and then embraced me.
"That's great" She muttered into my neck, she lifted her head off of my shoulder and gazed into my eyes as i just stood there frozen. She smiled brightly then let go of my arms. "Here's my number..." She yanked a pen out of her pocket and starting writing some figures on a piece of paper that was with it. She smirked at the paper and then gave it to me proudly. "Message me your address later and i'll come pick you up" She shouted as she ran off to a bunch of her friends.
I giggled at her little run and started walking again.
"Hey you" I jumped as i felt a hand grab my shoulder, i turned around to Jess breathing heavily like she had just run a mile.
"Hey, you scared me" I stated. She was carrying a bunch of books in her hands again as she lent again the fence behind her.
"Pay back." She giggled.
I smirked at her cute laugh.
"Hey, so i was going to ask you if you are still coming the movies, because if you are we can go right now if you want to? It doesn't start for another hour, but it takes half an hour to get there, and about another half an hour to get the popcorn and stuff. Oh, and don't worry i'll pay considering i asked you out of the blue" She smiled cheerfully then swept her hand through her hair, brushing it down with her fingers and then leaning on her right leg.
The it hit me, i had said yes to going to the cinema with Jess, as well as saying yes to Amy. Perhaps i could do both. Amy said she'd pick me up tonight and i had ages until then. I couldn't let Jess down, after all she did ask me first.
"I don't see why not?"
She smiled and lead the way as i hiked my bag onto my shoulder and followed.
