*Chicago Med: Hospital Room*

As Ana slowly came back into awareness, the first thing her senses registered was the sound of two familiar voices talking quietly.

"You sure you're okay? You don't need me to call a nurse or anything?" Adam wondered.

"No, I'm fine." Kim assured, chuckling softly. "It's not me you should be worrying about anyway."

The brunette wrenched her eyes open and squinted against the harsh light. She went to speak and it was only then that her body took notice of the tube in her throat.

Both Officers immediately looked over at the weak choking noise emanating from Ana's bed, feeling all the more grateful that Will managed to get the two injured women into the same room. Speaking of the redhead-

"Hey, Sarge, just relax. You're at Med. All right? I'll be right back. I'm gonna go find Will." Adam explained, gently, while Kim shot the Sergeant a relieved smile.

He stood up and rushed out of the room, coming back in with the doctor a few minutes later. The elder Halstead brother had a notepad and a pencil with him. He placed them next to Ana's right hand before stepping back and crossing his arms.

"Glad to have you back." Will joked, giving her vitals a quick once over.

The brunette rolled her eyes but made no move to grab the pencil. The redhead frowned in response while the two Officers glanced at him in concern.

"You can't write or you don't want to?" The doctor inquired, watching as the older woman slowly maneuvered her hand until she was holding up two fingers. "Yeah, I thought so. All right, get some rest. Hopefully, we should be able to take the tube out when you wake up again."

Ana just blinked in return before letting her eyes slip closed.

"So. . .she'll be okay?" Adam asked in confirmation.

He needed to know and Kim did too, judging by the way she was staring at the two men.

"We all know it's gonna take a lot more than a few bullets to put her down." Will smirked, lightly.

"Yeah. She's a fighter that one." Adam shook his head, fondly.

"No, she's a survivor." Kim corrected with a gentle smile on her lips.

The redhead nodded in agreement and continued to look over both women's vitals one last time before leaving the room.

*Later That Night*

Hailey walked in to find Kim watching Will who was hovering by Ana's bed.

"All right, you know the drill." The redhead sighed.

The brunette forced out a huge cough while the doctor pulled on the tube at the same time. The second it was completely out, he handed her a cup of water. She sipped at it gently and laid back on the bed after a few seconds.

Will nodded at the Detective in greeting and tossed his gloves into the trash can. He glanced back at the vitals one last time before leaving the room.

"Hey. Welcome back you two." The blonde smiled. "How do you feel?"

"I've had worse." Ana joked, voice cracking for obvious reasons.

"Did you find him?" Kim demanded.

"What?" Hailey asked in disbelief, not quite sure if she heard her correctly.

"I couldn't ask Ruzek, not with Makayla in the room." The Officer explained. "Did you find Roy?"

The Detective stared at her for a few seconds and hesistated, swallowing thickly.

"No." She shook her head. "No, Kim, we didn't."

The Officer nodded and glared up at the ceiling while Ana frowned, quietly. However, Trudy and Kevin appeared in the doorway before she could say anything.

"Hey." The Desk Sergeant grinned, moving towards her best friend. "You had us going for a while."

"You both look better than you probably feel." The dark skinned Officer added.

"Yeah." Trudy agreed.

"Yeah." Kim murmured and Ana just nodded, cracking a small smile in return.

*Even Later That Night*

The sound of footsteps walking towards her bed had Ana tearing her gaze away from Kim's sleeping figure and up to the larger frame of her husband.

"Hey." She grinned.

"Hey." Hank smiled, sitting down and grabbing ahold of her hand.

He brought it up to his lips and pressed a soft kiss to the back of it. The brunette's face suddenly fell a bit when she remembered what was keeping her awake.

"Hailey said that you guys never found Roy but she was lying." Ana recalled and the older man glancing down at his lap told her all she need to know. "He's dead isn't he?"

"She found me with Roy." Hank nodded, quietly. "Actually, she was the one who shot him when he reached for my gun."

"I'm guessing no one else knows?" The short woman sighed and he nodded again in reply.

The older man gazed down at their interlocked hands and let out a small breath.

"I'm sorry for how hard I've been on you. Maybe if I started letting you back out into the field a little earlier then this never would have happened." He muttered.

"No." The brunette hissed, vehemently. "It doesn't matter if I snuck away or if you let me, I would have been with Kim no matter what. This was no one's fault but Roy's."

Hank didn't exactly agree with his wife but made it seem like he did for her sake.

"Yeah." He murmured, leaning down and pulling her into a kiss. "But you're staying by my side from now on."

Ana's face split into a wide grin.

"Who says I ever left?"

A/N I don't know if I like this ending or hate it but I hope you all enjoyed this chapter nonetheless and I will see you on Thursday!
