A/N As we get into the final 3 chapters of this book, I have chosen to put the Fire season Finale here since the next two PD episodes take place immediately right after one another.

Now, without further ado, please relax and enjoy the read!

*Somewhere in a Courthouse*

Kelly was hunched over in a chair, staring blankly at the floor. He appeared to be lost in his thoughts but was quickly brought back to reality when Detective Pryma took a seat in front of him.

"We've identified the deceased. It's Campbell's guy, like you said. Look, anyone can see it was self-defense. All right, you're in the clear." The cop assured, receiving a nod in response. "Campbell must've been worried the message his boys gave you didn't sink in, so he put one of them on your tail in case you made trouble."

"How the Hell did he get in here with a knife?" The Lieutenant demanded.

"Cameras didn't pick him up coming through security, so he must've found his way into a side door somehow." Pryma replied. "There is a silver lining, though. Campbell's connection to this attack on you should give us enough to move on him."

"How soon?" Kelly wondered.

"Right away. Then down the road if you still want to testify-"

"I do." The firefighter interrupted in a firm tone.

"You need someone to watch your back until Campbell's in custody." Pryma sighed, leaning back in his chair.

"I can take care of myself." Kelly muttered, standing up and grabbing his things.

"Well, that much is obvious." The cop smirked. "But, from what I've heard, you won't be complaining about it any time soon."

As if on cue, a familiar head of brown hair raced into the room and the Lieutenant wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug the second he could.

"Sev!" Ana gasped, staring at the healing cut on his cheek with wide eyes. "I'm so sorry. I should've come to see you the moment I heard about Campbell."

"You're here now." Kelly murmured, burying his face into her shoulder. "That's all that matters."

Pryma decided to give the two some privacy and quietly left the room with a small smile on his face

*Firehouse 51: Kelly's Office*

Once Ana got her Godson there safely, Stella came looking for him. They, of course, told her everything and she was reasonably pissed off.

"Why didn't you call me right away?" The younger woman demanded.

"There was so much going on. I had to give a statement and just. . . take a beat." Kelly explained, quietly. "I know he came after me, but still."

"Hey, you are a good man, and you wouldn't be here if you hadn't acted." Stella pointed out. "Okay? You had no choice."

"I know, and I'm okay, really." He assured.

"Those guys are still out there, and we're supposed to be getting married." She shook her head. "Like, how is that gonna happen?"

"It's fine. The cops are going after Campbell now and Ana's not leaving my side any time soon." Kelly assured, smiling up at the brunette standing next to him.

"You're damn right." The Sergeant smirked, giving his shoulder a small comforting squeeze.

"This wedding is happening. I promise." He grinned, sitting up and moving closer to his fianceé. "I don't want anything overshadowing it, so keep it on the down low. You, Ana, and Boden are the only ones that need to know."

Stella just looked down and nodded in reply.

*A Little While Later*

Ana finally let Kelly go off on his own for a bit to grab a snack but she started to get a bit worried when he didn't come back right away like he said he would. The brunette decided to go look for him and the Common Room had just come into view she suddenly froze, tearing up a bit.

There, surrounded by every single person stationed at 51, was none other than Captain Matthew Casey. The blond man locked eyes with the Sergeant and his face split into a wide grin. He walked over with his arms open and Ana met him halfway, embracing him tightly.

"Of course Sev chose you as his best man." She gave a watery laugh.

Matt let out a warm chuckle in return.

"God I missed you, Mom." He whispered, sofly.

The Captain was about to say something else but the words died in his throat when Kelly, Chief, and Stella all brushed by them on. Ana pulled back to see Detective Pryma standing near the Apparatus Floor doorway and let out a sigh.

"Police business." She smirked.

Matt let out a hearty laugh at their old, long running joke and motioned for her to go. The brunette smiled in return but hesistated a bit. She stared at the blond for a second before deciding, "to Hell with it" and pulling him into another hug.

*Chief's Office: A Few Minutes Later*

"We raided Thomas Campbell's home an hour ago and found the place empty. Cleaned out in a hurry, paper shredded, hard drives destroyed." Pryma explained.

"Where is he off to?" Chief inquired.

"Well, one informant says Northern California, another says Canada, so. . ." The Detective trailed off.

"I don't get it." Kelly shook his head in confusion. "What happened?"

"He greenlit a high profile attack on a firefighter that failed, spectacularly." Ana muttered in reply, glaring at the floor with a dark look on her face.

"Yeah, he knows the hammer's gonna drop so he's pulling the plug on his Chicago operation and skipping town." Pryma nodded in agreement.

"He's not gonna get away, right?" Chief asked, hopefully.

"Hell no." The Sergeant growled, lowly. "He beat my Godson and then tried to have him killed."

"But it's a fed issue now, and we gotta keep our powder dry." The Detective added while eyeing the other cop warily. "It's good news in a way, right? You're the least of his problems now."

"He's right. Just put him out of your mind." Chief shrugged.

Kelly knew Ana would take care of everything eventually so he just looked down at the ground and nodded in response.

A/N I don't wanna change a thing about the Stellaride wedding because it's already perfect so I'm ending it here. I would have inserted a video if I could but, as of this chapter going out, the One Chicago YouTube channel decided not to post a clip of this beautiful moment for some dumb reason.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed! Till Thursday!
