*Crime Scene*

"What do we got?" Hank wondered as he and Ana walked over to where their team was grouped up on the sidewalk near a house.

"Harvey Clarke, 43, multiple stab wounds, back, torso, on his way to Med." Hailey listed.

"Sounds like home invasion gone wrong. Clarke said a guy busted in the side door, went for his late wife's jewelry. Described him as a thin, young Hispanic male." Jay reported.

"Clarke lives here with his two daughters. The one I found, Candace, she's 14 years old. And there's an older one, Darlene, 16, went to school early, probably has no idea this ever happened." The blonde added.

"I'm assuming Social Services is taking care of her?" Ana guessed while adjusting her mask.

"Yeah, they're taking 'em to their grandmother's house. It's the only local relative." Hailey replied.

"What about their mother?" Hank inquired.

"Uh, she passed away." Adam shook his head.

"Neighbor said it was some sort of autoimmune thing." Kim recalled.

"Guys!" Kevin called, walking over from the side of the house.

"What do you have?" Ana wondered.

"All right, so we found two cash counters and a bag of rubber bands in the garage, which means that whatever our victim does, he does it in cash." The dark skinned Officer explained. "But there's no sign of forced entry at all, which means that whoever did this possibly just walked right in. Maybe they had a key or the door was open, but I think that's worth asking some questions."

"Yeah, like, maybe the offender knew him. Chase it." The brunette ordered, smiling a bit despite knowing he couldn't see it.

"Copy that."

"All right, we want to work this wide. Have Forensics dust the whole house for prints. Adam, look for patterns of break-ins, known burglars in the area." Hank instructed, watching the Officers all rush off before turning to the Detectives. "Jay, Hailey, meet us two blocks east in five."

Ana shot him a look for that. She was wondering where he had run off to this morning but the older man just kept saying, "I'll tell you later." The brunette guessed she was finally going to find out.

*Two Blocks East of the Crime Scene: Five Minutes Later*

"The FBI has an active investigation into the disappearance of Roy Walton?" Ana asked in disbelief, swallowing behind her mask.

"You told us they weren't gonna do anything more than put his picture up in the post office. We're talking about the end of our careers, disbanding of the whole unit, prison." Jay growled.

"They have nothing. It's a fishing expedition." Hank shrugged.

"You believe that?" Hailey inquired.

"Well, if they have anything more than nothing, I'll find out." The older man assured, gazing at his wife. "Look, if we stick together. . ." He paused to grab ahold of her hand and squeeze it, gently. "We're fine."

Jay marched back to his truck before Hank was even finished talking. Hailey followed suit and the two Sergeants returned to their SUV as well.

*District 21: Bullpen*

"All right, where are we?" Hank inquired, coming out of his Office which Ana was currently hiding in.

"Victim's not out of the woods yet. One of the stab wounds lacerated his liver." Kim replied.
