*Crime Scene*

Hank and Ana walked by Jay trying to calm some people down on their way towards the house their most recent homicide had taken place in.

"Children?" The brunette guessed as they approached Kim who had been waiting for them on the stars.

"Yeah. They got another son coming in from Dunlap." The Officer nodded. "The Graces have three children, seven grandkids, and they've lived in this place for years."

"Forced entry, home invasion?" The older man inquired as the trio moved inside.

"No, sir, no signs of either. Nothing appears to be missing at all." Kevin replied from where he was standing just outside of the kitchen.

"We also found rope and duct tape in the bedroom upstairs." Kim muttered before heading back the way they came.

"Killer spent quite some time with the Graces before he killed them based on this food cooked. I'm thinking half a day." The remaining Officer informed. "And speaking of upstairs, Sarge, you are more than welcome to stick with me cuz it does reek of bleach up there."

"Huh." Hank grunted, glancing back at his wife before heading in said direction.

Ana, herself, decided to take Kevin up on his offer.

*District 21: Interrogation Area: Hallway*

"There were no signs of sexual trauma on either of the Graces' bodies, so whatever the motive was, it wasn't rape." Jay reported, walking alongside the two Sergeants as they made their way towards the Bullpen.

"Any low-hanging fruit on surveillance?" Hank wondered.

"There's a wildlife camera in their backyard, but that's all it caught." The Detective replied while heading over to his desk. "Squirrels and the neighbor's cat."

"PODs?" Ana inquired, mimicking Jay's movements.

"No, whole stretch of that neighborhood doesn't have them. It's too safe to need them." Adam muttered, leaning back in his chair and throwing up air quotes around the words, "too safe."

"Well, the neighbors' security cameras- there's four of them down the block- got nothing on them either." Hailey added.

"Right, and there's no 911 calls, no witnesses. That block was dead quiet all night. Strange thing is, I went back six months to find in-service calls. . . nothing." Kevin shook his head.

"No prints on any of the plates, cups, light switches. No strands of foreign hair. No murder weapon." The blonde listed.

"And their family?" Hank wondered, stopping next to his wife and turning to face the whiteboard.

"I spoke to the children. Uh, they were aware of no threats made to the parents. Couldn't think of anyone that would want to harm them at all." Jay sighed. "We're at empty."

"Well, clearly this is not a normal homicide. I mean, it wasn't about passion, about opportunity. It was sadistic." The older man pointed out.

"Henry's right. The killer played with these people. But why?" Ana hissed, shaking her head. "Why the dinner? Why the book, the bath, this bedtime routine?"

"I ran our crime stats and MO through ViCAP like you asked." Kim spoke up, appearing at her desk. "No other homicides popped as a match, but something else did when I ran 'bleach bath' and 'lullaby.'"

She held up a thumb drive in reference.

"Okay." Hank nodded, sharing a look with his wife as everyone moves to crowd around the female Officer.
