Harry Potter**

It was a strange, twisting feeling that sent a shiver up his spine and a weird sensation throughout his body. His limbs had fully transformed, as well as every other part of him, and he inspected his long white legs that ended in rather dainty looking white hooves.

He flapped the leathery bat-like wings that protruded from his back, and experimentally trotted forward a few steps and cast a look over his shoulder. Just like his mother, he had a full mane and tail, and was completely white.

Experimentally, he snapped his beak shut on the empty night air, and jumped, landed daintily with a gentle padding of hooves on grass. He hadn't really known whether he'd be white or black, but like mother like son he supposed.

"Very nice," Aren complimented, "A white thestral. Your mother would be so happy to know that was your first choice. Also, that was smoothly done. Usually on their first attempt, a wizard finds the transformation rather painful."

Harry wasn't sure whether or not he'd be able to speak, but he decided he'd rather try it and look silly than not know.

"Thank you. And technically, this isn't my first time transforming into a creature other than human. I've been in my true form, obviously, and also a kitten."

"Yes, but your true form doesn't count, and the kitten wasn't purposeful. It not hurting means that you trusted yourself and your magic completely that it would follow through on turning you into a thestral."

"But doesn't everyone who performs the animagus transformation?"

"No dear. Even with proof in front of them, people do not always believe in the truth. That disbelief makes it harder for the magic to work, causing them pain during the transformation because the doubt weakens their abilities."

"Huh."

"Quite."

Harry pawed at the ground and felt that he needed to get back to the bathroom. It was the same time he'd traveled back in time before.

"Aren, I need to return to my mates now. Thank you for helping me though!"

"Not at all my dear boy. It was a pleasure. See you again soon."

She pressed a light kiss to his forehead, one that felt warm, and disappeared.

Harry transformed back into his young wizard manifestation and began traveling back through the castle to the infirmary's bathroom. He went through walls and ceilings to get there as quickly as he could, and he saw himself disappear. As he made himself visible in the bathroom once more however, another Harry showed up.

"Hey, I know that you feel you need to go back to be with them, but I've got you covered. I know you aren't feeling ready to see them just yet, so I came up the idea to go to the Chamber of Secrets and do what we promised. Go on, I'm going out to our mates."

A pressure lightened in his chest. He really hadn't felt ready to see Lucius, Tom, and Severus. And hadn't he promised to go and visit Pasiphae as well as return the other dark texts to the private study?

He quickly hugged himself, (his other self) and turned back time yet again, leaving his mates in his own very capable hands. The Chamber of Secrets was very easy to find, as he'd been given explicit instructions by both Tom and Salazar, although their instructions differed greatly.

Harry followed Salazar's instructions, and went to the seventh floor corridor with the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy trying to teach eight trolls how to do ballet. The image made Harry cringe. Barmy indeed. And he walked the corridor three times, thinking of the Chamber of Secrets' hidden study.
