**Harry Potter

Harry was by no means stupid, and he already knew exactly how to get the necessary materials. If he simply reversed the basic principles of a summoning charm, he'd be able to send himself to a location he could find the hair of an albino thestral's tail. This was important for Harry to do because if the thestral was alive, the entire thestral would be summoned by the charm even if he only asked for a hair.

Swishing his hand, he cast magic around him and focused on the hair. His magic whirled around him, beating against him until he lost sight of the world beyond it. A half second later, it disappeared with a pop as if it had never been, and left Harry feeling vaguely light headed.

He took a stumbling step forward towards a rock standing two feet away, and plopped down before he fell down.

Immediately Harry knew he was not on muggle land, if he was even on Earth at all. Silver trees with leaves blood red and ground bone white surrounded him, with thick blue fog glowing all around, obscuring anything farther than ten feet away from him. No, not Earth.

Turning around in search of the thestral, he saw the beautiful creature five feet behind him. She was female, with white taloned bat-like wings, a sharp gleaming beak, the skeletal horse frame possessed by all thestral's, and the most beautiful mane and tail he'd ever seen.

From previously viewing her black counterparts in other people's heads, Harry knew that the mane was unique. Her eyes weren't red as most albino creatures were, they were instead bone white. Harry was awestruck by the majesty of her, and opened his mind so that he could converse.

Stealing from the mind of such a creature would surely be a crime, and he did not wish to disrespect her so. Bowing low, Harry put one arm behind his back and touched three fingers to his lips before straightening.

|White Queen, I greet thee. My name of birth is Harry Fleamont Potter, son of Lily and James, raised by Petunia and Vernon Dursley. My family is as yet unknown to me, I am but a lost colt who has yet to know a friend or mate. I pray you allow me to converse with you, Lady White Death.|

Harry didn't know where the bow or greeting had come from, it was instinctual, just as he knew this thestral was the queen and must be shown respect.

|Child, you have yet to discover who you are, and are far too young yet for the power you wield. You ought to be in a loving family, so you can know for yourself the worth of love. I accept your greeting, and grant you the freedom to speak freely. There is little need to stand on ceremony with me young foal. Be at ease.|

He resettled on the rock, facing the queen.

|I have come to ask a boon of thee, and in return, I will grant what you ask of me. I have come to ask for a hair of your tail, and understand if this is something you cannot grant My Lady Queen.|

The queen studied his face before reaching back and plucking a hair from her tail with her beak. She laid it gently on the ground before speaking again.

|I have been queen of my race for over a hundred thousand years as you mortals count the passage of time. I have been approached never before by one such as you and am quite curious.

|First, I give to you a warning. In touching that hair, you will be judged. My eyes have seen good and bad pass before me, and I will weigh your intentions to see if I can accept you. Should you pass, you shall keep the hair. Should you fail, you will die. I cannot change the nature of my being.

|Second, I ask you allow me bestow a name upon you. I see you are of multiple parts, but this one is as of yet unnamed. I shall give you a name in return for you taking my hair. To accept, all you must do it retrieve the hair.|
