Era Damon White**
Before Sev came back with Draco, Madam Pomfrey came out from behind the curtain, looking pleasantly surprised.
"You simply must tell me sir, where did you get your education?" the healer asked, looking Era over speculatively, "You can't possibly be more than two and twenty years old, yet seem to know more about healing than even I do, and I assure you, I've been around for an. . . a good number of years. A lady never reveals her age," she said primly.
"Self taught Madam," Era said respectfully.
She looked at him awed, "Well, color me surprised. Is your education complete? Who oversaw it? How on Earth did you know how to help that little boy?"
Era felt a bit of color in his cheeks. Little boy! That almost stung. He was able to do so much, yet he was still a little boy? Okay, so he was eleven years old. That was pretty young. He sighed a bit, only internally, and responded to the woman.
"I have not completed my education, no. I never had anyone overseeing me. I knew how to help Harry because I've had the same thing happen to myself."
"You-" she wheezed, "You've been tortured?"
"No!" he said, shocked, "Why would you even say that?"
"Because forcibly putting to much magic into a person is a form of torture," she said, looking at him as if he were the mad one. Okay, so he was, but still.
"I wasn't tortured. My body just couldn't handle how much magic I have inside me. I just call it magic poisoning, because it acts like a poison, and it'll kill you if it reaches your heart."
She looked at him concerned, saying, "Mr., I don't even know your last name. You simply can't naturally have too much power for your body. You were born with it as a vessel for magic, and when your magic grows quickly, a person will go through a magic growth spurt."
"I have a sort of," he searched for the word, and was dissatisfied with what he came up with, "deformity with my core then. And my last name is White, but I insist you call me Era Madam Pomfrey."
"Just Poppy will do. And you said earlier that you were going to be adopting Harry?"
"Yes."
"Were you also the one who managed to get him to a healthy weight so fast?"
"No," Era said, smiling proudly, "That was Professor Snape."
"What did he do?" she inquired.
"Gave him more than one weight restorative potion and protein bars," he said, omitting just how many vials of the potion were given.
"That was dangerous," she said, frowning with disapproval.
"It was necessary though. The child lost a dangerous amount of weight."
"I had noticed that."
Era smiled suddenly, and asked, "Madam Pomfrey, do you think you could take me as your apprentice? So I can officially learn the healing arts?"
She chuckled, "Sorry my dear, but I'd be of little real use. You know more than I do about healing," he looked crestfallen, he couldn't help it, and she continued, "But I do have a friend, he works at Saint Mungo's, and he can teach you as I cannot. Tell me later if you would like to take the offer, it's something you should sit with."
It was at that moment that there was a knock at the door, followed by Severus showing Draco in. Tom flooed away, Lucius walked over to the pair, and Madam Pomfrey disappeared behind Harry's curtain.
