Hello peeps ;)

Firstly, I'm so sorry for the delay in updating this chapter.

I got swept off in work and family farewells so didn't find time for editing.

Also guys, as most of my readers know I've psoriasis, I was happy with the semi-clear skin but for some time, I was back on the struggling road so got into light therapies round 2. I started today and I'll update you on it for the next couple of months.

Keep telling me how you guys love my story so that I stay motivated for the story and also my therapies. You guys are my support.

Anyways, here is your awaiting chapter.

ENJOY :)

EMRIC'S POV:

Memories are meant to stay forever....

Yeah, it's the truest quote I ever heard. They stay to either haunt or overwhelm you. Whereas mine was killing me. Giving me a slow death, I never wished for, however, it's what I deserved. A life where I was nothing but a soulless body. My guilt was poisonous.

Guilt is like rust. It's slow and powerful while it eats a person alive.

I hoped that someday when I die, I'd be free of all of that guilt I was for intentionally or unintentionally.

My mind repetitively replayed Luke's words. I wasn't her boyfriend. I was unable to wrap up the news that she didn't love anyone except me.

You don't know that yet, Emric. Stop assuming stuff.

Perhaps, I wasn't sure about it but why was I even entertaining a thought like that? I had my own life. I had a wife to worry about.

Thea wasn't just a thought that would come and go. She had been a huge part of my life and I couldn't remove it even if I want to.

That's the thing about young love; the truth in our hearts says it'll stay forever, no matter if it's in person or in memories.

I shook back my thoughts as my phone blinked on the passenger seat.

Twenty fucking five miscalls!

"God damnit!" I muttered as I checked my cell phone. All of them were from Maya and Asher. Instead of calling them back, I opened my inbox with Thea's messages.

*What's taking you so long? *
*Luke is a douche so please don't waste your time on him. *
*Emric? You alive? *
*Should I come to pick you up? *
*GODDD! Emric??? REPLY ME.*

All of these texts were sent in the span of an hour and me being a dumbfuck, my phone was on silent.

I knew she'd be worried, so I was on my way to her place. I needed to make sure she didn't stress about Luke.

As I was about to call her, Asher's name flashed. I sighed in defeat and answered his call.

"Where the fuck have you been?" Before I could say anything, he growled at me.

"That's none of your business." I put it on speaker as I took a left towards my destination.

"Emric, we're calling you nonstop and you don't think it might be something important?" the way his voice went from serious to whisper, meant something was wrong and I fucking knew what.

"Maya fainted again, right?" I asked. I didn't need to cross-question him; it was his dead serious voice that gave me a complete background check.

"Yes. It happened in the gym. We were working out and she just fell. I took her to the hospital, and everything is fine but—" he paused and sighed heavily.
