Hello babies :)
So sorry that I'm updating this chapter pretty late than my deadline but y'all know me. I'm never punctual regarding anything so bear with me.
Alright! First thing, I've noticed that people are actually reading my story which is a good thing but why isn't half of you not VOTING?
Please I request y'all to take a second and VOTE because that will help reach somewhere.
I hope you enjoy this chapter and one more thing I'd like to add is that this book is different. I have a different mindset about it. Different calculations and stuff so please just cooperate with it.
Enjoy

EMRIC's POV:
My fingers impatiently danced on the coffee table while I waited for Thea. It was past 9 am and she hadn't shown up yet.
"Stop shaking your legs, Emric!" Asher groaned and hit my knee as we were sitting next to each other.
I huffed. Why was she taking so long? Carol was driving her so it wasn't like she would be on the subway or a bus.
"I think I should go and see what's taking them so long?" I said as I got up.
"Sit down. They'll be here soon. It's girls, they are never punctual." Asher mumbled as he was on his second coffee.
I dragged him to the café an hour earlier because I was immensely excited to see Thea and Rose early in the morning. After last night's Chinese treat, I couldn't sleep peacefully. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about her. The way her lips made a slurpy sound on the noodles. And how her creamy skin shined in the dimly warm light of the restaurant.
Stop it! Emric Reed, stop thinking about Thea. She cannot slide into your mind. It's uncertain.
Undoubtedly, something had stirred up in me. Something that's been misplaced and irreclaimable has been evoked. Perhaps it was my feelings for her when I fell for her.
"I'd like to know why you punched me last night?" Asher fake coughed, his knuckles tapped on the oak table to grab my attention.
"Because you're the real asshole." I rolled my eyes.
"Emric, spill it." He asked, leaving a low groan.
"I'm giving divorce to Maya." I blurted and held onto my roots. Though the conversation was just started I was hating it already.
I waited for Asher to laugh and hit my head for joking, instead, he quietly gazed at me for a good minute.
"What did Maya say?" He asked, sighing heavily. Okay, this was unexpected.
"She doesn't know it yet."
"So, you aren't sure about it?" he asked. I looked at his face, the way his brows twitched, and looked, I knew he was in his big brother mode.
"I was sure until yesterday" I huffed, not wanting to recall any of it "Something happened."
"What?" he attentive stiffened.
I started telling him each detail about how I was prepped to do a divorce talk with Maya. I explained how she looked helpless and vulnerable. Besides omitting the part where I saw Maya as Thea. If he knew what messed-up thoughts I had, he'd kill me right now.
"Damnit! That sucks bro." he huffed, sipping more of his latte. "We should probably head home. She needs us." He enthusiastically stood from the chair.
