Hello bubs :)
It's been a while since we met so here I am.
Before we move on to the chapter, I just wanted to say that I've been trying to be emotionally tough again. Things happened over the years which broke my emotional strength but now I'm rebuilding it again. In the process, I cry, I scream, and I allow myself to be hurt but everything comes with a boundary. I don't allow myself to break no matter what the circumstances are. It's tough but I gotta do this.
I hope this helps anyone who is dealing with emotional trauma. You can do it too. Just have a mindset and be disciplined when you start your journey. Huddles will always be there but how you live your process matters the most rather than the result.
I love you guys. N. ♥

I kept this chapter short and sweet for a purpose.

THEA'S POV:
I knocked twice before I entered Emric's room. He shut his laptop as soon as he saw me. "Ice cream?" I asked.
"Ice cream in the winter, for sure!" Once I sat beside him, I handed him a spoon, and we dug in for the first bite of the vanilla ice cream. It wasn't our favorite but it was the only flavor I could find in the fridge.
"You seem to be in a nice mood!" He predicted my feelings so accurately that I try to hide my smile. He was making it abundantly clear that he loved me for much longer than I could have imagined.
It should be illegal to love someone unconditionally and selflessly.
"You were right! Rose's magic work." I grinned, giving him a fist bump. "Mom said we can meet if I bring Rose with me." I squeaked happily.
He chuckled. "Wow, that's great."
"I know! She even hugged me"
"Wonderful!" I did my wiggle dance. "Though Kristin doesn't show it, she misses you." He said, firmly.
"I agree. I can't wait until everything is fine between us." I couldn't help but imagine how much I can share with her and tease her about getting old. I lost my most important days with her and couldn't wait to make up for it.
"Trust in time. Soon you guys will be the best mother-daughter duo again." He said with a hopeful smile.
"Thank you, Emric. Thank you for always being so damn supportive of me." I pulled him in for a hug.
"Oh!" he chuckled. "Sweetcheeks, not just a hug, I need jam toast in the morning."
"Anything for you"
"Is Rose asleep?" He asked, stealing more scoops from the tub.
"Yeah, it took me an hour to get her to sleep. Her energy is crazy." I sighed in defeat and leaned back on the pillow.
"Good. If you don't have anything better to do, maybe accompany me." He suggested. As much as I want to be against his idea, the urge to spend more time with him was stronger.
"Okay. Maybe I can help you solve your case" I shrugged.
He smeared the ice cream on my nose using his index finger. "No, you can't solve my cases" he laughed.
